What's the point of Venice or Sweden?
I don't get it, they have zero unique units or abilities, why are they in the game?

Sweden has two special units. It's 18thc pikemen and a cav unit. Venince is a generic nation that used to have a special ship.

Sweden is very good with their national bonuses and as Cossack has pointed out they have unique units.
Venice has pretty buildings, but they are way too large and therefore much easier for all the cannons to destroy.

I believe Venice has superb calv boosts.

No in Cossacks 3 Venice has no bonus for any units

Venice will get a unique naval unit with 18th century ships update and Sweden has a bunch of tweaked parameters for its units.

Given that on both Steam and Official forums there is a lot of talk about the uselessness of 17thc muskets, do you think the devs will look at balanceing this in future? I know it was the same in Cossacks 1, but truth is the unit is just not used by anyone who knows what they are doing. Would be nice to try and make more of the in game units that are not used become usefull.

Also is In-game editor still on course for release very soon? dying to play around in it. :)

It is hard to tweak them right. You can give them their own building in which they produce but then Ukraine and especially Algeria will lose some competitaveness because the other nations get additional production buildings. Making 17c stronger and faster in production might have the effect of making 18c musketeers useless and people will simply spam 17c muskets + merc ligth infantry until 18c and then spam 18c pikemen :)

I'd either decrease their training time OR give them animations to use their swords they carry around.

Every noticed how almost all of the units carry swords but never use them? And I don't mean the units that use their swords as their main weapons, I'm talking about those that don't have swords as their main weapons but still carry them around.
