I will admit that my snap-decision instant judgement of the game, at the barest possible glance, without knowing a thing about it and having not even looked at one of the storefront-featured screenshots at any size greater than thumbnail size, that my first thought was:
"Huh. That looks like it ought to cost more like $14.99 instead of $19.99, but whatever. *adds to wishlist for later*"
But really, who am I to quibble over $5 more than my initial baseless snap-judgement uneducated guess as to what this game is worth to me?
This game does *appear* to be priced ever so slightly higher than other, similar (?? it looks really unique though) titles, but I don't understand why so many people are raging out over this, lol.
It looks every bit as big and bad and amazing as, say, Super Metroid, and costs probably 1/3 as much (without even adjusting for inflation, meaning it costs even less, really). :) A $60 SNES game in like 1995 would cost ~$94 now. Games are cheap these days, kids. Get em while you can. :)
I'm still kinda hoping for a sale and was a little disappointed it didn't go on sale this summer, but I think the price looks fine for how much work it appears has gone into this thing.
I have 232 gameplay hours in Defense Grid: The Awakening, it costs 8,99€. still haven't done everything in it.
Very high quality games imo and well worth their cost.
Kings Bounty is another example that I've spent many hours in for a cheap cost. This type of stuff is what I compare to when I raise my opinion about the price of this one. If this makes me an enemy, so be it. So, will this game also give me between 200 and 300 gameplay hours of fun with it's higher cost?
Another example of a game that is more similar to this in genre is Dust: An Elysian Tail. It's really in the "high quality game" department. It costs only 13,99€. I'll wait for some kind of Steam Sale before I get this one.
I won't buy it at a high price. I'm not this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oXx0qwe0wc
(Or actually I can wait, and I will... It's just an expression...)
Get over it.
