WINDOWS 10 SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION POSSIBLE FIXES
I created a guide for this if you want to see it there:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1131135165

1st Step (if necessary): Fix for UbisoftGameLauncher OR "error 50000065434":
- The usual first step is that the game won't let you play or even launch because you have an old version of "Uplay" that steam downloads for you. You must download the latest version of Uplay (NOW CALLED "Ubisoft Connect") for this game to be able to launch, or you might get the "error 50000065434" code, and the game cannot be launched.
- You can also download the official latest version of "Uplay" (Now called "Ubisoft Connect") through their official Ubisoft website
https://uplay.ubisoft.com/

***** UBISOFT CONNECT NOW HAS PROBLEMS CONNECTING WITH STEAM IF IT IS ALREADY RUNNING. REMEMBER TO CLOSE UBISOFT CONNECT AND LET THE GAME BOOT UP UBISOFT CONNECT TO CONNECT YOUR STEAM GAME TO YOUR UBISOFT CONNECT ACCOUNT******* animal_PLANET ON STEAM HAS COME UP WITH SOME WAYS TO LINK YOUR GAME TO YOUR UBISOFT CONNECT ACCOUNT:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/582160/discussions/1/3775742015028862972/#:~:text=In%20order%20to%20link%20your,it%20to%20your%20Steam%20account.&text=You%20can%20try%20to%20clear,or%20disable%20them%20for%20Ubisoft.

Fix for Compatibility Issue (Usually Windows 10):
1. To fix the compatibility problem, just find where your "steamapps" directory is on your pc, then click common\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction\src\system

2. Right click on "conviction_game.exe" go to the "compatibility" tab and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for windows 7"

Fix for "black screen for 2 seconds when starting up, then quits to desktop":
1: Make sure to go to the directory provided in step 2 (below this one). IT IS IN YOUR "PROGRAMDATA" FOLDER in C:\ WHICH MIGHT BE HIDDEN. To view hidden files, go to the top tabs of "explorer" and click the "view" tab. In there you can find an option to "view hidden items"

2: Directory is -> C:\ProgramData\Ubisoft\Conviction The file should be named "ConvictionUserPC.ini"

3: Right click the file, Open it in notepad and scroll down to the area which mentions:
[UserVideoOptions.Your_USER.ACCOUNT_Name]
VisualQuality=2
StartupFullscreen=True
FullscreenViewportX=
FullscreenViewportY=
MaxRefreshRate=60
WindowedViewportX=
WindowedViewportY=
UseVSync=False
UseHDR=True
MonitorAspect=-1.000000......

4:
Change your resolution in the section below to the appropriate resolution your computer is using:
FullscreenViewportX=
FullscreenViewportY=

5: If it still doesn't work, make sure to CHECK YOUR MONITOR'S REFRESH RATE. THE GAME WILL NOT START UNLESS THE GAME'S REFRESH RATE MATCHES YOUR MONITOR'S
MaxRefreshRate=

2. Right click on "conviction_game.exe" go to the "compatibility" tab and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for windows 7"

At first it complained about the not supported OS and error 1 (on Windows 10 Pro 64bit). Got those dealt with, but it just puts up the banner from Steam saying it's starting, then UPlay starts and says it is loading the game. Then UPlay closes it's window (but is still in the system tray) and Steam goes back to it's splash screen and tries loading the game again. It keeps doing this until I interrupt it by killing conviction_game.exe and UPlay in Task Manager. And if I let it loop too many times, UPlay then says my account has been temporarily suspended due to "bad logins or activations".

Hmmm, so is your Uplay app completely up to date? Sometimes restarting the computer works. I've had a Steam swapping with Uplay bug like that before, but it can be easily fixed by restarting the computer or quitting uplay and restarting it after a while. Hopefully it should work now that you've killed "conviction_game.exe"

You might have had bad luck making too many attempts to log into Uplay, because when i usually kill conviction_game.exe, it will work again, but only sometimes. Uplay is VERY BUGGY, i hate it as well sometimes

You need to click "properties" first after rick clicking on conviction_game file. The "compatibility" tab is inside the "properties" settings

I can't get it to run no matter what.. have put it in compability mode which got rid of the OS error, but still got the graphics card error. after installing uplay, i get stuck in the lopp between steam and uplay - multiple restarts, always the same. started the pc in safe mode, which skips the gpu error, but now the screen goes black for a splitsecond (definetly not 2s) and then i'm back in steam. i wanted to change those settings in ConvictionUserPC.ini, but they simply dont exist. All i got is SystemValidation (also tried setting that to false), DefaultPlayer, NetPlayer, Engine.HUD, Engine.Display and Inputs. I don't know what to try anymore, any ideas?

C:\ProgramData\Ubisoft\Conviction is the correct one. The file should be named "ConvictionUserPC.ini"
It is in the guide i have posted above :)

At the moment you're looking at the wrong "ConvictionUserPC.ini" in the main steamapps directory

I looked up that error, and all you need to do is to uninstall Uplay from your computer and reinstall with the proper version of UPlay. Go to Ubisoft's official website to find "UPlay" (now called "Ubisoft Connect"), and download the installer for it.:

If you have FPS issues for:

1. Multi-core CPU, it might be the core affinity. It kept setting core affinity to 0 core on my multi-core CPU. Every level load / after every cut scene I had to force it to use all cores with Process Lasso. That helped significantly.

2. For SLI I had issues with performance; I used NVidia settings to force AFR type 2; seemed to alleviate my issues there as well.

Just a heads up.
