Freebird Games' purchasing policy
Hi all, just trying to make this more visible for those who aren't familiar yet:

Simply, as with all games from Freebird, there's a 100% no-questions-asked refund policy if you regretted your purchase in any way, even if it just happens to not be your cup of tea. You can email me at kan<at>freebirdgames<dot>com with a receipt and I'll get it done personally.

While I do definitely stand with things that I make, part of the reason for this too is because these games can be a bit odd as far as expectations go, especially to folks who aren't familiar with the kind of games I make. So I hope this'll also make it more accessible and less of a risk for those curious.

So that's that -- Cheers guys, and thanks for your time!

-Kan

And that's how you do customer service ;)

Wait, can Steam even do that?
Reives  [developer] Nov 7, 2014 @ 5:43pm
I think they can, but this isn't through Steam -- more like me sending a payment to someone on Paypal. Technically it's a net loss to do since Steam still takes a cut hahah, but I haven't came across anyone abusing the policy yet, especially as there's the receipt (had sent it this way a few times in the past year).

I can't imagine why anyone would ask for their money back. If anything they should be asking how to give you more money

Actually, this is precisely the question I was asking myself after playing To the Moon. I got it cheaply on Humble Bundle, and only realized Kan deserved way more than he got from me after the sale was already gone.

I guess all I can do now is always pay the release day price for all of his future games.

Same here. I would buy it again on GOG again should it shows up there.

It's already there, waiting for you to buy it!

And it's cheaper than on Steam. Please, don't ban me, Gabe!

I think you can raise the price you paid on your Humble Bundle and allocate the new money to this developer.

That is very thoughtful of you. I hope nobody starts abusing it, though. I'll be purchasing this game soon because I loved To The Moon and thank you for being so generous.

You can keep my money because the story was wonderful and I want to see more content like this. Thank you for the experience.

See that is customer service. Other companys (Ubisoft) could learn of this.

I didn't like the game so much, I've to be honest, but I loved To The Moon, so I won't ask for anything back. I hope you've time to work to a truly ttm sequel, that's all I ask. :)

I'm really curios how a second one would play out.. I can't imagine being able top what was already expressed in the first one. Even with character changes and settings the whole to the moon story was unique to that couple. To find another couple with similar aspirations driven by the title of "to the moon" would be strange. But I would be interested in their next big project as they really did tell a wonderful story with the other game.

EDIT: Just watched the video.. so another game similar format with dieing wish, 2 doctors.. Yeah... NM could be another good game but obviously different wish.

Who on earth will dare to demand refund for such masterpieces like to the moon / a bird story?
Show me that person and i'll personally throw my slipper at them.
