You would use your preferred resolution and set your refresh rate in your gpu monitor settings or use your monitor's built-in menu to select the refresh rate. Locate your monitor's spec sheet to see what refresh rates are supported at set resolutions. The game does not set your monitor's refresh rate.
I have set the game exe to fastest refresh available in Nvidia Control Panel .
I have set my monitor (its own settings using physical button) to display refresh on bottom right hand side of screen.
I use steam overlay to show FPS on top right.
I set Vsync on.
The game displays at 60Hz and 60fps at these settings..
Other games like Quake Live for example ,I set 180Hz in game ,and with Vsync i get 180HZ on screen and 180Fps on screen.
Most games do control the Refresh rate.
This game must limit Refresh to 60Hz.
I have moved the fps slider in game -this does nothing when Vsync is on.
Vsync will show max fps corresponding to refresh rate.
You test yourself.
Got me thinking and I did try your suggestion.
Had another idea -another game I have played called Xonotic limits HDMI cabled monitors to 60HZ for some reason -maybe that happens in this game too?
(Since I use a laptop where I disable the laptop display and only display on my external monitor that supports up to 180HZ.)
