Don't give up on this game...
@The developers: I've tried out this game and while the core is good, it feels more like a proof of concept as there's a lot of things that need polish or rethinking. This game is screaming for a sequel. Hell, I'd back it in a heartbeat if there was one in the works.

If not a sequel, just one hell of a bonus pack.

TOXIKK's Steam workshop offers more than a "bonus pack" ever could. So much awesome content there...

I hate to say it but there really is NOT a lot of content there. Like literally only 4 mutators. Some maps. And hey, I get it. It's not the dev's fault. The thing is though, there are aspects about this game that need to be fixed or reimplemented on the fundamental level.

Alright. What makes you say that?

I finally got a few of my friends to try the free-to-play version, and we had a blast. Wish there were some more small maps built-in though since the player base is very small on the East Coast it seems and so are most matches :/

We have a number of smaller maps on the Toxikk workshop that both TX & DC Toxikk servers host.

More custom maps on the way from me and a few others in the community as well.

Things aren't going to be fixed or reimplemented if nobody is playing it. Not to mention that everything has been fixed as-is, considering the limitations of closed-source Unreal Engine 3.

I'd rather hear Sharkster's take on this first before I say anything.

Wouldn't the burden of proof be on you? You made a statement without evidence of any kind, no examples, no videos, no reasons. It's not sensible to expect the developers to defend their game against nebulous claims.

I'm not looking for an argument though. I wouldn't have made this thread had I not cared about the game at all. Now it is true that my claims are at the moment pretty vague, but Sharkster's reply was so blunt and short that I have a suspicion that no matter what I say, it's going to fall on deaf ears. And if that's the case, then I don't want to waste my time giving a full report of things I liked and things I think could be improved.

TL;DR - I want to be sure I'm not wasting both Sharkster's and my time.

Sharkster isn't the only person that can affect the game though. If you have preferences or critiques of gameplay mechanics, these things can potentially be addressed in mutator mods. The game has (probably) reached it's final stage of internal development despite any of our hopes otherwise and it's now up to the community what possibilities lie in the game's future. If a game inspires you enough to have nuanced opinions about it's features, I think that assuming only wasted time can come from voicing those opinions is a bit defeatist because someone else could still be inspired by those views. Maybe nobody will be inspired or agree, but is it not worth a few paragraphs of your time?
This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dead. shut up
