Failed to contact key server

Anyone getting this error when trying to start up the game?

I spent about 3 hours trying to get the game to work from CD. It refuses to update from 1.01 to 1.05

So, I caved in and bought an online version from steam. ...and Error : Failed to contact key server.


If anyone else can find the fix, please let us know.

yup i did aswell i purchased my copy a few minutes ago i read some forums and the general answer is to wait untill steam gets more cd keys to distribute to you as theve ran out (probably due to the recent game sale)
In my opinion thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i did'nt buy the game and then go to steam and say oh ♥♥♥♥ you're going to have to wait till my next pay day etc etc
