Possible fix for the "local server" error
Just played the game for the first time, and stumbled on the "local server" error when trying single player.

Browsed through the forums and people suggested either whitelisting the game's *.exe files both in the firewall and antivirus (didn't work) or running Steam in admin mode. Well, turns out that for some reason the game wasn't being able to access the temp folder in AppData\Local.
Setting the compatibility settings in VoidExpanse.Server.exe and VoidExpanse to run in admin mode fixed it.

Hello!

Thanks for reporting and the workaround.
Recently we have received several reports related to this issue (inability to access AppData\Local by the server process).
We will investigate the issue. Meanwhile, the described workaround is an acceptable solution.
