[SOLVED] - Missing/Invisible Droids? CRASHES KOTOR WITH COMPANION DROID

[UPDATE] - after playing around with my mods I found the culprit! it seems it was a "appearance.2da" file in my Override folder that caused this crazy bug/glitch to happen. I wish I remembered what mod it was that it came from, but I removed it from the game and now it seems everything is back to normal. Hopefully this helps for anybody else who experiences this issue.

[ARCHIVED PROBLEM] - So I completed the purchasing droid quest, but my new robot follower is invisible, and whenever I do anything that involves interacting with the droid, the game freezes/crashes. I believe I have to use that droid though so I can access the Sith Military base correct?

Is there any fix for this? or am I SOL and I have to restart the game entirely or something?

I've never heard of this :( Did you try verifying the game cache through Steam?

I think you can actually get into the base without the droid, if you can't find a way to get him working.

never tried verifying the game cache but Ill try just that, and if there's an alternate way to where I never have to deal with the droid again then I'll happily take it, but if not guess I'll just reset the game and try again.

I think you can open the door without the droid if you have access to a security stat (whatever it's called, I haven't played KotOR in a long time) that is high enough. You might have to do it before you get the quest to pick up the droid, but I'm not sure.

I think my issue right now is that ALL droids are gone from the game. I can see their names floating at times, but I can't see any of them (or at least, the R2-D2 looking ones).
