Avg detected virus in Tera!
I just started Tera from steam library and Avg popped up this virus detection "Win/Heur
Win/Heur is a malicious software that once it is exceuted has the capability of replicating itself and infect other files and programs." I let avg remove it revalidated the game file and it happened again so i have let Avg remove the threat again and posted here to see if others are getting any virus hits! And yes i know Avg is known for false detections but its never been an actual virus its usually adware etc that is a false hit or unknown but this is there bright orange virus warning!

I use NIS and nothing has ever been detected, either real or false positive, in either the Steam or the Enmasse versions of the game.

Ok thanks for your input it may well be another fals positive then :fingerscrossed: Avg can be too careful for it's own good most of the time :/

The question is not why AVG detected Virus in TERA.
The question is why you use AVG.....

It is of no concern to anyone why i use Avg before anyone else concerns themselves with my software library thats not the topic of this post ,people using Avg that get this virus warning only need reply so i can declare a false positive on the Avg site ,and in my 30+ years of gaming/pc use it doesn't matter which virus protection you use as all can pop up false negatives and its better to be safe than sorry which is why theres so many people with virus/malware ridden computers by using nothing rather than use software like Avg .It would be nice to not need virus protection but thanks to trolling scum that feel the need to rob people and infect anything and everything they can it makes us wary of any detection we get which is better investigated than brushed aside.

Not to be a♥♥♥♥♥♥ but he's refering to AVG being an at risk AV since it is the most commonly bypassed anti-virus out there by hackers and viruses alike. Norton is pretty good and has alot less security issues esp when combined wilth malwarebytes, I personally use Panda Security paired with Malwarebytes for maximum security. (ignore my name and picture, it's just an ongoing joke for my gaming group)

Ok great thanks much appreciated ,i'm a bit touchy when it comes to posts i've had a lot of trouble with serious topics on various forums being hijacked so to speak and steering the discusion away from it's intended purpose so thank you for the help i will have a look into Panda and Malwarebytes and i didn't meen to seem snappy im very direct and like to stick with the titled issue but i understand if that is what he was refering too ,Thanks again and no worries on the profile pick lol ;D .
If you need any good anti-virus get Avast. This will only detect what actually IS a virus and you can even alter the voice when it fins a virus xD Like you can record yourself saying like "Oops you kinda got a virus there buddy!" and that will pop up when you get a virus, it's a good free one too and was rated the best free anti-virus
Also, don't worry. I don't think TERA would put a virus into your computer especially when it's from a trusted, official website.

Norton sucks and accuses EVERYTHING of being a virus xD
But then again, it just ends up as what suits you as an anti-virus
