Bearger in My First Autumn???

I am a rather new player and am playing Solo. I know a bit about the game (Thank you Don't Starve Wiki) but why has the Bearger shown up next to my base in the very first Autumn? Is it because I set the length of Autun to Long? Because I am honestly terrified. I need my crops and berries for the winter and lucky me, he's standing right in the middle of my berry bushes.

My questions are:

A. Is it because I turned up the length of Autumn to Long

B. What should I do? Do I aggro him and run him to the nearby Beefalos? Or do I take him to the nearby swamps? Is there something else I should do? Because I'm not sure I can take him down by myself and I'd rather not abandon this profile. This is the best base location I've ever found. (Between both DST and DS)

This is the first time I hear about this, damn it's crazy.

I would drive him into a forest with many Spiders. He will literally spawn every monster in there, including Tree Guards, he will eat all the monster meat from spiders that will decrease his hp as well.

He probably will not die, unless he spawns too many Spider queens / Tree guards, but he will sleep and hibernate there. Then you can also try to spawn Deerclops in that area to have an epic Boss vs Boss fight, haha. Or just let him be there and ignore him forever. The agroo from the spiders will make him stay there. Another option to get him dead is visit him later when you have frog rains in Spring.

Okay, so no boss can spawn within the first 29 days of the world existing. After then, a boss can spawn, depending on the season.

And I agree with the previous comments, let treeguards take care of it. Hit him once, and then he'll chase you, but you can outrun him. Once he is attacked by something other than you, he'll forget about you, and focus on the thing that hit him.

You could even use him to get a lot of wood for you, by kiting him around a forest, and dodging his attacks, or like I said before, you can just leave him somewhere.
