Temporary fix to increase gamepad dead zone
I've developed a quick fix to set the gamepad dead zone radius to 10%. If the developers do not resolve the issue soon, I'll add GUI configurator to change the radius.

In any case here is the GitHub repo for the project: https://github.com/d-b/gurumin-pad

Here's the binary release: https://github.com/d-b/gurumin-pad/blob/master/release/dinput8.dll?raw=true

To apply the fix, copy dinput8.dll to the root of the game directory. It should be in the same directory as "game.exe", "manual.pdf", etc.

If you'd like to help me improve it, post your GitHub username and I'll add you as a collaborator. Either that or just submit a pull request with your improvements.

Great work :D thanks a lot.
Oh thank you so much! It works like a charm! You just made the game playable for me! :D

Also for those wary of downloading dlls from strangers on the internet I can confirm that this is virus free [www.virustotal.com]

The latest update seem to fix the dead zone issue actually.

I noitced that myself. It seems like it is slightly better since the last update. However, I still get occasional drift without applying my fix. Maybe they have set a non-zero deadzone now, but if they have, the radius must still be extremely small.

OMG! this dll also work to fix the deadzone in Need for speed most wanted! (altough I don't now what side effects can happen for using a dll from another game)
nevermind, thank you. I wish I know how to edit dll files so I can do that myself. ;)
I need a deadzone of 0, I'm trying to use the Gamecube controller.

Help?

the dinput8.dll in you system32 folder should have a deadzone of 0, i think. you can just delete dinput8.dll (or rename it to dinput8.something) and the game will go look for the dll to the system32 folder.

It fixed the deadzone in need for speed most wanted for me too, but my controller is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up that 10% is not enough and the car still steers by itself a little bit, this is probably unlikely to happen but I'd appreciate a lot if you made that GUI you mentioned

Yup this somewhat fixed Most Wanted (which pinnacle and durazno failed to do). And you 10% is not enough.

It works also in Need for Speed Pro Street... It was unplayable before... But yes as Henry said it would benice to have 20-25% Deadzone :)
