skill wheel?
I'm not seeing the changes to the skill wheel, is it random map only?

also does anyone know what new maps were included in the patch?

It appears to be "no map only". It appears that the skill wheel changes were not included in the patched as promised. The heroes are still bad. I waited a long time for 4 Aug to come along for nothing.

It's working for me, only on skirmish maps with random skill selected

To get random skilling you ACTUALLY have to select random skilling when creating a game. When starting a custom adventure map (skirmish), you have the option to choose Free skilling or Random skilling. If need be I can make a screenshot to pinpoint where it is, but to be very fair, it's not exactly hard to see :)

You can enable it in Campaign also.

If you go your heroes folder there will be a folder saying;

MMH7 > MMH7Game > Config follow that path. You'll get a bunch of .txts

Go to DefaultGame.txt (will open as notepad)

do Ctrl-F search the word 'Skill'

It will take you down to a [MMH7Game.H7RndSkillManager]

Underneath that it will say this

mFullRndSkills=false
mNumOfferAbilites = 2
mNumOfferSkills = 3

If you turn False to True you will enable skilling in all campaign maps. You can then change those numbers to whatever you want and it will offer you more skills/abilities per level up, should the player want this.

Feel free to spread that info around.

Interesting. Can I have Ivan the Pyromancer?
Heart  [developer] Aug 5, 2016 @ 12:44am
Can have Ivan the whatever you like I guess? There are still some 'hard' rules, but way less, something like Haven can't learn Dark, but everything else is on the table. It is all % Based as to the likely hood of a Skill line popping up.

Even more interesting. Now the skill system resembles a skill system from Heroes III.

@Heart
Here is another question. Is there any % limitations based on a Hero's Class or there only restriction based on a Hero's faction?

I mean If my Hero is Paladin will he be offered more with Diplomacy abilities and less with Fire Magic? Or the chance of getting abilities from Diplomacy and Fire Magic are the same for all classes within a specific faction?
mbradtke Aug 5, 2016 @ 12:59am
if i remember correctly the article said it is based on class skills , each class has different ones so the % will differ based on class

True. Just checked the article. As they say, google first then ask. :)

There are no clear restrictions IIRC (some lore ones like Heart mentioned), just different weights.

You basically got it right. We sat down with the VIPs a lot of on this one. Every class of every faction has their own assigned % to each potential Skill you could have populate the skill tree. Outside of some 'hard lore' restrictions (honestly not that many) everything is 'open' so to speak. This helps make all the classes feel unique and gives some interesting opportunities for builds. This also means a 'fire mage' from Academy will also have different 'weights' compared to a fire mage of Stronghold, as an example.
Remembering this only effects the Random skilling of the game. The 'free' wheel will always be as it is, just because that's what was asked of us.
Before I never played random, now I only play random.

Can't wait to try it!

Can we get a percentage for each class? It will help to plan a strategy and to pick a hero at the beginning of the game.

Please

Mm, I'm not sure about how much of that information we want to share.
On one side I feel like.
'Why not? You should see what each class can get.'

But on the other I think it adds a little not knowning what class can get what..Maybe i'll organise a Strawpoll for over the weekend here ,and on Ubi forums, see what people think. I have the information at hand so we can leave it up to the community to decide.
