Unoffical Community Patch (UCP)
Unoffical Community Mod (UCP) is a community modification for Might & Magic: Heroes VII and its expansion Trial by Fire. Since the game development ended in 2016 and no more official updates can be be thus expected, it's just up to this game's loyal fans to fix the remaining bugs and make Heroes VII great again. And so the largest bugfixing patch for this game was born...

great jobs thanks! But I'm about iffy on some of the changes... why would Sylvan be banned from using Fire magic?

Because of the fire destroying their forests, burning Sylanna's land :)
(It's possible to play without the banned magic schools if you delete the modded Factions file)

But isn't that a bit unbalanced? Also Sylvan heroes will not get high magic on those spells compared to fortress...

If I install the mod will it overwrite the vanilla version or is there a mod support system?

The easiest is to open Heropedia - check if the abilities (for example Soul Flaying Breath) have upgraded descriptions.

That is faction diversity. I don't see why it is unbalanced, compared to it, fortress heroes don't have access to higher water magic. On the contrary, it was unbalanced before as necropolis, Haven and dungeon had one forbidden magic school while the others had none.

There is no mod support for this game (like via Steam or so) but as you can read above, there is a possibility without overwriting the files.

Dotaz - nebolo by rozumné zmeniť efekt hromadných kúziel, s ktorými majú AI problém, len čisto na jednorázový damage, prípadne ich obmedziť len na 1 kolo? Mágia už je aj tak prehnane silná.

Hádám, že mluvíme o kouzlech typu Firewall, Poison Cloud, Blizzard... No možná by to rozumné bylo, ale problém je s efektem těchto kouzel. Ten se těžko dá udělat jako jednorázový, respektive by to nedávalo moc smysl - efekt mraku i ohnivé stěny je pěkný a byla by (aspoň podle mě) škoda o ně úplně přijít. Rád bych našel nějakou cestu, jak se AI lezoucího schválně do oblastí kouzel zbavit, ale úplnou změnu kouzel dělat nechci.
Jinak něco takového, co navrhuješ, dělá myslím H7 Improved [www.hommdb.com] od Moritzbradtke, akorát těžko říct, co přesně s nimi dělá, protože patchnotes jsou hrozně zmatené.

Kým sa nenájde rozumné praktické riešenie budem sa tým kúzlam zatial vyhýbať, príde mi to ako cheatovanie. Dík za UCP mód, je skvelý!

Thank you so much for your hard work! I'm just a bit uneasy about using it as I play online as well and there's no way to tell if the people I'm playing with are using it as well.

Skirmish - Nedobytná hora, hrdinka Ciele:

71 - runetrap - nejak sa toho stále neviem "zbaviť". Už som hral x bitiek v oblasti pôsobnosti mesta a stále sa mi to "neminulo". Na lište hrdinky stále píše Vyvolá pasti snižujíci pohyb nepr. jednotek behem príštích 2 bitev, inakedy zasa píše 3 bitev, ale stále sa striedajú tieto dve čísla. Pri runovej stéle som bol len 1x, neobnovujem si to.
Edit: v poslednej bitke sa mi pasca aktivovala asi tak 4 krát a už to zmizlo. Nemá to určitý počet pascí čo sa musia aktivovať či je to určené počtom bitiek? Pretože v predchádzajúcich bitkách sa tie pasce ani nespustili, keď tak sem tam jedna za bitku.
Edit: tak nezmizlo, zasa to mám v lište hrdinu.:)


39 - healing mi nie a nie oživiť viac ako 3 jednotky strelcov. Možno to súvisí s vybavením hrdinu, ktoré pridáva hp jednotkám. Konkrétne mám robu proroka čo pridáva 3hp. Skúšal s robou a bez nej, stále oživuje len 3 jednotky čo by zodpovedalo hp 23 strelcov pri sile kúzla 90. Po sundaní roby hp strelcov klesne na 20 ale oživuje stále len 3 jednotky (ale popisok píše že léčení: 86-86 malo by písať 90-90 a oživiť 4 pretože ich je mrtvych podstatne viac ako na 90). Záhadou mi aj zostáva prečo vlastne majú strelci hp 20 ked na adventúrnej mape ked pozriem strelcov, majú hp 17 a to aj s robou aj bez nej.
Celé to vyzerá, že niečo znižuje silu liečenia, ale len pri liečení viacerých jednotiek, ked lieči nejakú velkú jednotku tak lieči presne tolko kolko má.
Edit: ked odoberiem čelenku čo zvyšuje magiu o 2, zníži sa sila healu na 70, samozrejme v skutočnosti lieči len 67, zasa menej ako píše a oživuje len 2 strecov(23hp), malo by liečiť za 70 a oživiť 3 (70/23=3,04).
Predpokladám že pri zvýšení učinnosti kúzla sa počet oživených jednotiek zvýši, ale vždy to asi bude menej ako by malo byť. Každopádne nie je to nič tragické.

i really like your effort to make the game better and better. Thank you very much.
Maybe i haven´t read your announcement carefully enough, but i have some questions regarding the translation of the textfiles.
1. Where do i have to store the edited textfiles ? If i do this in the gamepath there is no way back, right ?
2. You said everything after the text "ucp" has to be translated. All right. What about the other textfiles in the zipfile, are ther minor changes to integrate ?

@BahamutXero That's the bad point of mods, most of them are sadly not very useful for MP, unless you make a deal with people before playing

1. You can use the same path as the rest of the mod uses (C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Might & Magic Heroes VII\MMH7Game\Localization), if there is no such folder (Localization) in the path, create a new one. If you use this one, it will not overwite the original files. If you use the game path, you should create a backup of the original ones as it will overwrite the current localization files.

2. I'm worried I'm not sure what you mean by other textfiles in the zipfile; could you specify, please, which zipfile you are speaking about?
