The symbol code?

I don't understand the symbol code/video combo, haven't found anything useful in the map for it either. The video to me makes no sense, I can't tell if it's a combination puzzle where the lines add/take away from the opposing symbol, which way it goes, what the text represents on the bottom, as it's in Japanese, and what the little red symbols are for, especially since some of them don't correlate to any symbols used in the password that is more digits than the amount of codes that appear on the screen. I feel like I'm really overthinking it, but if it's a brain twister, I can't figure it out for the life of me! Any hints?

Symbols cowered by lines are the right symbols. It's really that simple.
