New Game Video 2 - Event Mode and more
https://youtu.be/wX9ln3Is2qg

Announcement! Free playable demo will be out in June or July! I'm very excited to see what you think about my game when you play it first hand!

In this video, I show you three aspects. 1st the menus, I know it's not that exciting, but it's very important for many players to have robust menus.

Secondly I show you the Event Mode. This is an adventure mode that ties the action together. Experience some true RPG story bits, talk to NPCs, buy stuff from the shop and get ready for your next mission.

In the third part, I show you the current development of the action level generation. The textures are now randomly generated as well as some new visual effects combined with butterly smooth performance in 4k.

Damnit, Blue. Now I've Tommy Wiseau on my mind

There's something very clean and delightful about looking at your menu and the way it inflates outwards. Very neat.. day 69? :gleosmug:

The game has a ton of potential when it comes to visuals. I think the night-mode with certain lights and shadows could do a ton to help you not grow tired of the layouts. (UNLOVED for me would very rarely play around with lights as much as I had hoped them to, which was okay because of its dark, horror setting).

What are you thoughts in regards to how players may feel lost with the immense complexity to levels, do you think it might slow down gameplay for people to figure out how to backtrack or access a room - seeing as there's no jumping to allow for skips? (At least I've not seen any jumping so far)

Are you confident in that the map (which I see takes a soft spin on UNLOVED's minimap) , details and lighting will help players navigate? Is speedrunning something you will encourage players to try or grow in? And if yes, how? (An example could be rocketjumping)

The RPG / FPS blend sounds interesting!
I think that the odd shaped rooms will go a long way when it comes to changing up the layouts, I really like the "diagonal doors".

Can't wait to try the demo :steamhappy:
It's a not as gritty (some may say edgy) as Unloved, which for me is a shame. But that isn't to say it's not an interesting idea.
Since it's more of a playful setting, maybe you'll be after a less morbid name for this game.
Mayhaps a quirky name is suitable? How do you feel about "Hyperbolic Dimensional Chamber"?
A goof off the anime hyperbolic time chamber.
Looking forward to whatever-its-name's early access release.

The level generation definitely looks more advanced than in Unloved. The setpieces are are a lot more varied and interesting and I'm happy to see that there's more verticality this time.

But the artstyle is completely not my cup of tea. Same thing with the gameplay perspective. I don't like third-person games to begin with but third person games where the camera is separate from the characters position are something I just don't understand. I know some people prefer it this way but I personally can't get into games like that.

So far the most interesting part is actually the story thingy. Here's hoping that the world of this game will be more fleshed out than the one in Unloved. Actually, in Unloved unlocking the memories was one of my favourite things to do. So that's something I'm looking forward to.
