How to Play Online
Here's what you should do:

- The host chooses a Region (default:Americas) and clicks Host New Game

- Once the host is inside the Class Select screen, they will have their Lobby Code shown on the screen. They should then message this Lobby Code to the client that will join.
An alternative to this is to use the Steam invite, that will replace the Lobby Code entering completely.
The host will then just wait for other players to join.

- The client should choose the same region as the host. It should then type in the Lobby Code exactly as it is shown to the host and click the Join button. After a few moments, the client will have joined the Class Select screen.

No port forwarding or Hamachi is necessary.

Important:
1) Make sure the client tries to join only after the Host has already entered the lobby (class select screen).
2) Make sure to type the Lobby Code exactly as it is shown to the host
3) Make sure the region of the Host and the Client are the same.
4) Steam invites are always preferred, since it guarantees the host is ready to receive, and it skips the Lobby Code entering.

If you still have problems connecting to your friend, please submit a bug report by pressing B on your keyboard when the error message dialogue shows on your screen.

If its all Players Play with steam Why not?

Yep, we've tested cross-platform and online works across PC, Mac, and Linux. You can even play across Steam and DRM-free (GOG, Humble, etc).

Is it possible to play cross-platform with PC and PS4 or is that not feasible?

PS4 does not support online multiplayer.

WHYYYYYY?!?!?! there should be a match making/lobby process... really disapointed that I have to know and plan with people beforehand to play, instead of being the worryless process of many other games in which i'll be thrown together with a bunch of people that I don't know and we will have to coordinate. What if none of my friends own this game?

I agree. A "quickmatch" feature would be nice. My friends IRL who have Steam don't play games like these, unfortunately, and adding strangers on Steam just to coop a single game seems mehh..

Me and my friend randomly dissconnect mid game any reason why?

Having issues with the online as well. My buddy and myself can start it and load but the minute we make it to beginning town we both suddenly disconnect and both of us are kinda confused. Any suggestions?

Same here but we can't pass the opening cutscene or mostly they just disconnect overall at the character select.

Edit: We got past the start up but then 2mins later went back to the disconnect.

Most people are playing online without problems so it's difficult for me to say what's going wrong -- can you tell me a little more about your situation? Are you playing on the same local area network, or at a distance? What OS, region, connection speed?
Smiley Smiles Nov 23, 2016 @ 8:30am
Both of us are using windows, it is at distance as one of us is from the UK and the other is from USA. I can't get the exact connection speed but it's decent. We tried to play on each other's regions on the online menu both from europe and america, both weren't stable.

I have a problem too, my game disconnect after 5-10 minutes of gameplay when i host in any region, we've tried everything said here on this post... sometimes instead of disconnecting the other character simply stops to move, kind of disconnects but does not show the notification on the screen...

There are any fixes for that? Our connections are fine.

Same problems with disconnects with a friend. Both from Germany.

How do you key in the lobby code? I simply can't change the code from 0000.
Also, there's no option at the steam friendlist to invite to group for moon hunters? I have for my other game (rwby) though. Is there something I'm doing wrong.
