Life is Strange is a feminist game?
I've heard a lot of criticism from players saying that LIS is a boring and very feminist game, due to lack of violence and having many dialogues like The Sims. That's because most players are used with graphics and wild action?

Lack of violence=feminist game?
So with this logic every need for speed game is a feminist?

what
I wouldn't call it a feminist game, but feminism is definitely a theme. And that's fine. I've had some issues with militant feminists in real life, but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy a game that explores the subject. Personally, I wish the whole movement was made up of women like Max.
Maybe I`m blind or what, where did you notice that "feminism" theme?

Yeah... well, ok, here's the thing: I really have a problem with how people try to say feminism is a bad thing somehow, that we shouldn't have strong female protagonists in our game, etc. etc. And that was what I was talking about. Then I've hit ''Post Comment'', before remembering how people who actually support strong female protagonist in games get s**t for saying so lately...

I just wanted to avoid that... so I deleted my own post a few second afterward...

And I realize I'm probably gonna get s**t anyway for this explanation, too... so, just accept this explanation and then ignore me, alright? I'm sick of having to deal with people like that...
I didn`t even say anything bad about u, wtf
Feminism is good, it's the feminazis you have to watch out for and there is nothing feminazi about LiS. I don't really see why people would target it as a feminist game unless they are uninformed about the whole subject in the first place.
And actually I don`t care about main char gender, I care about story in general. Dunno why some people even try to criticize Remember me and Life is Strange for female main characters and don`t criticize mass effects, for example.

Wow.... Just... wow!

I wasn't talking about you, like, at all! I posted a little rant about how stupid it is that people see feminism as a bad thing and how calling Life is Strange a feminist game (which, btw, I think it is, too) would somehow give it a bad reputation, etc., etc.. Then I posted. And the second I did, I remembered that anytime someone showed support for strong female protagonist in video games, SOMEONE s**t on that person's head for expressing such an opinion. I repeat, SOMEONE, not specifically you. I just want to avoid this particular someone when he shows up, that's all. Which is why I deleted my post.

You then asked about it, and I figured I could at least give an explanation. So I gave you an explanation. I'm not avoiding a conversation with you, I'm avoiding one with the potential a**holes that are likely to show up in a conversation about the place of strong female protagonists in gaming. 'cause those a**holes show up ALL THE TIME in those conversations lately, and I've dealt with them for too long already, and I'm sick of it!

So, in short: You wanted an explanation about why I deleted my post the second I posted it, and I gave you one. But the reason I deleted it was NEVER about you, so no need to be defensive there

Edit: And it seems like they've already showed up as I was writing this. So I'm off.
Perhaps "feminism theme" is the wrong choice of words. It's more of a meta-theme, in that the game breaks a lot of barriers that often exist in video games because they're largely written by and for men (and there's nothing wrong with playing to your market - don't get me wrong).

Take, for instance, the fact that Dontnod turned down several publishers who wanted to turn Max into a young man. Take the fact that it humanizes female tropes, such as the "mean girls" who are that way because of the social structure they're embedded in, not just because "teenage girls can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥". Take the fact that it deals with issues like date rape (or at least the use of date rape drugs) in a way that is sincere and never explored in mainstream video games.

The game has pushed a lot of boundaries, and I think the genre and video games in general will be better for it. I don't think that all, or even the majority of games, should be expected to follow the path it's laying down, but those that do should find it easier to convince publishers of the merits of their ideas - and that is wonderful.
