I hope the cozy chair from the principals office is the main character

Ok, think about it. You develop a bestselling game... why dont make a new season so you can make MORE money?
BTW.. I really think next seasons wont get the same success this season got. It made the standard very very high

And even that translation is grammatically incorrect.

Please -> Pleased

Sigh, first translation was like it came out of Google Translate and nobody checked if it makes even grammatical sense. Then this corrected translation also sounds so mechanical.

I think it won't sell well because most of the fanbase drank bleach after the ending of season one

I'm pretty confident that they will make a Season 2. It's more just a matter of when. Also, I agree, Life Is Strange is a great game. However, part of its success comes from the things that made it unique. Life Is Strange isn't your typical video game. There's a huge emphasis on the story and immersion; the experience feels more akin to a novel or movie. We do control and aid Max in making choices, but it's very much Max's story. We're just as much a passenger as we are a driver in this world.

This isn't a game that relies on amazing graphics or tried and true game mechanics to engage the player. Essentially, DONTNOD needs to create another intriguing scenerio for Max to once again simply be herself within. That's what made this game so charming to begin with. I don't see any reason why such a creative team couldn't provide another great adventure with these characters, especially considering all of questions they have left unanswered.

Except DontNod's comments on the situation suggest they plan on creating a second season with an entirely new set of characters and that Max's story is concluded. Because I don't see a reason as to why they aren't capable of crafting an entirely new set of characters which captivate people in the same way that season one did. The reason people are attatched to the characters is the strength of the writing. Which is more preferable a new story just as engaging as the first or something which is forced and contrived using characters they have already concluded the story with.

You'd think PC Gamer would do a bit more research and check the translation.

I'm also aware of their interview, which was in June of this year, when they stated they were considering a new cast of characters with similar themes. All of this was stated well before they ever recieved any of the reactions from the conclusion of Life Is Strange. So, I would take it with a gain of salt.

Still, they could certainly go either route. However, I find it interesting that you would suggest expanding on Season 1's story into Season 2 would be "shallow and contrived." Ironically, the biggest criticism this game has recieved is the shallow and contrived nature of the endings themselves. The only way I would see a completely new cast/story as preferable is if DONTNOD had absolutely zero faith in their own ability to continue the story they already created.

Even if you're content with the first season, it's fairly silly to deny the obvious amount of potential in continuing Max's story.

I seriously hope you guys don't take them removing this as actual canon proof of S1 being the end of the road. He clearly slipped up, and even stated what his actual job position would be on the project. They can deny a second season right up til they announce it themselves, and there will be practically no backlash from it. They've mentioned in the past that they wanted to make more than just this first season, and if you watched the dev stream a few days ago the dev that was on continuously said "on this season" when referring to points in the game.

There will be a season 2, they just don't want to announce it yet. Hell, Ep 5 hasn't even been out for 3 weeks yet.

You mean the endings that DontNod themselves stated conlude the story of those characters and that they've stated they wouldn't make any changes to?. But as they've stated nothing suggest they aren't still considering a second season with new characters.

Could they? Because they haven't suggested that they plan on continuing Max's story.

More specifically I meant that it could end up being shallow and contrived if they did so to cater to fan demand.

Yes, but it would also be silly to deny that DontNod aren't capable of crafting another story that is just as engaging as the story of the first season with a new set of characters.

Except what he stated was if it happens he would look foreward to working on it.
