I always thought that text exchange was weird. How could Chloe possibly get Warren's phone number? And why would she even care enough to text him? I don't even remember Max mentioning Warren to her at any point, and she never sees him until episode 4. Could he be lying about getting this sort of jealous/possessive text from Chloe in order to try to drive a wedge between Max and Chloe?

edit: and what does he mean, out of the loop "now"? He was never in the loop. Max considers telling him about her power on at least two different occasions, but decides against it. She doesn't trust him enough.

If he knew nothing of her then how would he know to send a text like that? The details in the text show he must know of her. Also, he saw her in episode 1 when Max left him to get a kicking as she made a swift exit with Chloe. In episode 2 he asks Max about who Chloe is in the same conversation that he invites Max to the drive in. I don't know how Chloe got his number by episode 3 but I guess Max must have told each of them a bit more about each other during the missing hours of her day that we don't play through.

I can't prove his drink was spiked. I wasn't really being serious. I think he did lie except for the small possibility that those suggestions might be true. Pretty much I think that's his only hope/possible excuse.

He talks about how he went to so much trouble to 'get tickets' for him and Max to the drive-in event, but admission is $10 per car, not a per-person ticket. And we know that Warren already knew that because the "seeking a lady friend" post-it note on the drive-in ad poster at the diner is in his handwriting, and he also uses the "Go Ape!" slogan from the poster.

Hmm... Well, as for me, I don't know that I'd classify that as lying -- sounds to me more like careless language or exaggeration ("fending off bullies" -- ha!). Thanks for the clarification!
