The game crashes to desktop
So, the title says it all. After some time in the game (maybe around 10 minutes), it just freezes and quickly crashes to desktop. I had the same issue before, but I thought I fixed it by turning off the multicore rendering option. Looks like I didn't. May this problem be related to Win10?

Try verifying the game cache: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

If this still doesn't work; try this:

What seems to be happening is for some reason the game is failing to recognize your screens resolution. Right click on the game in steam and choose properties. Under the general tab click Set Launch Options. Type in -w x -h y where x is your screen resolutions width and y is your screen resolutions height. Will work for other games with the same problem. If you need a visual reference here's the link to the video I got the fix from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26CQeyDjkYY

Mine was crashing a lot, but disabling Vsync fixed it.

I have no idea why, but lowering shader quality seems to have helped me. Just completed the game, actually.

The same thing happens to me on Windows 7 (64-bit) and Intel Integrated Graphics. The game works on my Kubuntu 15.10 install on the same computer, albeit at a low framerate. Portal 2 works on Windows, but has the same framerate issues on Linux. The solutions here do not help, neither did reinstalling the game.

A good thing to do is to check if you are running steam in admin mode, usually fixes things, worked for me.
