Mana flood is the flaw of this game
If you are a heavy use of Magic The Gathering, tell me how can you defend this? I'm not talking about Mana screw. Mana screw is like a result of how you built your deck. Little draw cards can help to find another land. But Mana flood? How can I avoid it? Answers of Mana flood are so weak or useless. Discard, landfall, Land creature are so certain color/type exclusive. If you are going to use them, you have to build a certain deck with certain cards. I happened to draw a land 4 times in a row so even draw cards won't help that much.

I just don't get why they thought this is acceptable and didn't put a cycle effect on every land.

use fetchlands and card draw. MTG is about managing risk and probabilities - makes it far more interesting to play. Flood and screw will both happen sometimes, your job is to minimize that chance.

Alternately you can play Legacy and Brainstorm your way out of every flood situation.

Here's another way to definitely avoid flood - play no lands at all:

There are colorless filtereffects like Geier reach sanitarium or Smugglers copter.

This is just how MTG works. Sometimes you get godlike draws for 5 duels, then you get mana screwed, then you get mana flooded. The only cure is to have a ton of draw power in your deck but that doesn't leave room for other things and could possibly leave you open for a mill.

Supermaori damn you are retarded.

You post this:
"I'm not talking about Mana screw. Mana screw is like a result of how you built your deck."

Then you post this:
"But Mana flood? How can I avoid it?"

This is like "What is the species of Sonic the Hedgehog?" - level of stupid.

Wait one second there. What is the species of Sonic the Hedgehog? He's obviously not a species of hedgehog because he walks on 2 legs, is blue, has an average land speed of 400/mph, and eats mostly chili dogs. Even though he used to be a hedgehog until a lab accident altered his DNA, his structure has been changed so much that he can't be considered to be a hedgehog any more. Can he even mate with an ordinary hedgehog and produce offspring?

Sorry to derail the conversation.

When you get nothing but lands for many turns it can't be coincidence.
My theory is that when you can win the game but make a wrong move the game screws you.

Why wouldnt it be coincidence?

Cause it is unreal. Seriously how many lands in a row can you draw if you have bad luck?
Wiffin Sep 29, 2017 @ 8:53am
It definitely happens. Are you saying it has never happened to you in real life magic?
Θωμάς76 Sep 29, 2017 @ 8:54am
I have only played duels, almost 2300 hours.
Wiffin Sep 29, 2017 @ 8:57am
Ah ok. Well this is as they say. It is part of the game. Manaflood happens, that is not strange. It is just regular statistics.

If you are truly abandoned by god you can draw all of them.

*Pardon text wall.... I played a lot of Magic when I was younger and it was a brand new game, say 93' - 94'ish...Real life decks can also flood and screw too of course even after much fine tuning. That being said, the Digi-Shuffle in Duels makes me wanna throw the computer out the window at times.I like making functional decks with anywhere from 16 - 22 lands or so... Duels is dead set on 24 being the sweet spot from what I can tell, I've built several lev. 15-25 decks, own around 20-25% of the games cards.

I can build a well oiled, well rounded machine but as soon as I toss out 1 or 2 unnecessary lands the game starts slamming my deck rating. Sometimes I'm like f*@$ it and go into ranked with 22-23, and it'll screw me just to show whose boss.... or give me 9 lands in my first 12 cards.... I swear irl was never so punishing.... Of course in the good ole days, A Black Lotus, Ruby Mox, Emerald Mox, Sol Ring, and BirdsOfParadise saved us from screw. And I rarely flooded cuz I only put 18-19 land in a deck.
