Preorders On Track with Odyssey's
So apparently through leaked documents of the third quarter 24/25 investor's call with Ubisoft, Shadow's current Preorders are matching the same as what Odyssey was getting.

Now mind you Odyssey was the 2nd highest selling Assassin's Creed game with over 10mil+ sold and 40mil players.

https://x.com/RinoTheBouncer/status/1890132331341427053

From the Document
"Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Scheduled to launch on March 20. Positive previews that highlight the immersive world, stunning graphics and variety of gameplay brought by the dual-protagonist approach. Pre-orders are tracking solidly, in line with those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the second most successful entry of the franchise."

(Not 100% sure I can be posting the leaked document as a whole lol)

Don't think the whole "non-buynary" thing is working

Never was. Sweet Baby Inc. detected can attempt to shape public image by spamming forums, but the reality is that they never stood a chance against the masses.

Odyssey sold 1.5mil copies in its first week if I remember correctly
Visually, Shadows is the most impressive-looking Creed game. If that's what people want, there's no stopping them from purchasing it.

At worst, it'll sell as poorly as Revelations. There's a dog's chance that Shadows could sell fewer copies than that, given that it's the most attractive game in the entire series.

The 'Valhalla factor' is impossible to predict because that game also took a beating when YouTubers got their grubby hands on it weeks before release. Nobody expected it to sell twenty million copies.

===

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sold 15 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed III sold 12 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey sold 10 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed Origins sold 10 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed Unity sold 10 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed II sold 9 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed sold 8 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood sold 7.20 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations sold 7 million copies.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla grossed $1 billion in consumer revenue. It took the game one year to accumulate that much profit. It is also the fastest-selling Assassin’s Creed game to date.

Now that preorder numbers are in you want to wait. Far cry from last month lol

big props to a troll who doesnt want to play this game, has no interest in playing it, has repeated multiple times that they are only here to 'watch ubisoft burn', continuing to troll post nonsense and attacking other players with snide comments like this.
you really won the internet there, bud.
These are documents are public, not leaked.

Game's doing well with preorder sales, your fearmongering has failed.

I 'member, I 'member...

This is Ubisoft posturing to try to boost sales and not sound desperate, but the stock seeing a modest uptick following this announcement shows just how much credibility such statements have (and yeah, numbers like Steam wishlists/follows of this game support the view that this is doing quite poorly, hence, the negative price action that the Ubisoft stock has been seeing over last months, extending the negative trend started years ago).

It's unlikely that they're liying. Ubisoft is a listed company. If they lied about sales numbers they'd commit a crime. If you accuse them of a crime you better have some evidence.

Spaulding lied about being an economist, what else does he lie about?

Assassin's Creed Shadows will probably do all right, especially given how big the franchise is and how popular the feudal Japan setting is.

That being said, I do think all the controversy surrounding the game will have a real impact, even if the hardcore fans want to pretend otherwise.

Honestly I need to start grifting, it's so easy
Just point at every single game and go
"This game is gonna fail. It sucks. It's crap. Company sucks. Boo everyone."

Game Fails: "Ha I was right."
Game Succeeds: "It didn't do as good as it could have, our efforts hurt the game's potential."
"Oh it had 50,000 players? Well it could have been 75,000 players. Oh it surpassed 75,000 players? Well it could have been 100,000 players."

Remember what they recently announced when it came to Sweet Baby Inc?
Despite all their efforts, all their complaints, the spam and harassment over a YEAR, SBI has experienced 0 negative impact.
No contracts lost, no dropped projects, nothing. In fact they've gained MORE projects (Up to 30ish last I heard)

Let's look at Ubisoft's last three games:

Star Wars Outlaws: has not managed to break 2,500 concurrent players on Stream.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: 2,614 peak number of concurrent players.
Skull & Bones: 2,615 peak number of concurrent players.

The last three games Ubisoft brought to market have failed spectacularly. The value of the company is in free fall and it's on the verge of bankruptcy and/or being sold off. Ubisoft claims Shadows preorders are tracking well? They said the same thing about Star Wars Outlaws.

I think Assassin's Creed will do fine on the strength of the brand. However, to think that the controversies have no real impact on Ubisoft's bottom line, is to fail to be honest.

I mean Outlaws from what I've heard is doing well and got a big boost over the holidays.
Alan Wake 2 just became profitable so I don't doubt Outlaws will make it along in time

Skull & Bones was a development disaster. Every time I thought the game was released it actually wasn't. And they bragged it was a "AAAA" game?
That one failed cause of hubris.

And Avatar?
Look me dead in the eyes and say
"I want to play a game set in James Cameron's Avatar."
