Heretical thought, but will there ever be a pvp mode?

Maybe I missed the answer to this other than "it was planned to be a full singleplayer experience" (which is 100% fine, keep going, I love the game)

With the nice movement and gunplay I think It'd be a fun addition at some point. not like it should become the main point of the game, just a fun afterthought (although may not be worth the developing effort maybe?)

Please God no - this game is unique singleplayer experience and should stay that way, and why I personally bought it (play from the Epic launcher since it came out there)

It's a known fact that with PvP comes toxicity and the worst in people, it's inevitable. Even though PvP *could* be an "afterthought", I still hope the devs stick to their original vision.

You have plenty of other options to go play a game that gives you PvP:

Ofcourse, that game is plagued by Hackers, dual PC ghosting enjoyer, and 3rd party program abusers.

If you already knew the answer to your question why did you ask it? There is no such thing as integrating multiplayer into a single player game as an "afterthought" it genuinely doesn't work that way

I would push for this too, but JangBYUNG already gave a perfectly good reason why it's a fundamental waste of resources. Can't stop the cheating, any countermeasure against it is not ironclad and very expensive.
