Save before full release
When the game full release we lose all the progression we make in early access?

did your save transferred completely through the versions of early access?
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I'm looking forward to restarting when fully released. I know it would pi** a lot of people off, but I'm actually hoping for a wipe so I can start over. Too lazy to restart myself, but if the game forces me? Well, I have to do it!
If they throw away 150 hours of my life, I'll be very disappointed. "Try their best" is a very strange phrase. What's to stop them from transferring data from 0.9 to 1.0 the same way they transferred it from 0.6 to 0.7?

Since Witchfire is a work in progress, code, data structure, and game mechanics are actively changing. New features that are required to rewrite code and/or the structural basis of the game can make or break saved instances of prior versions. Basically, your save file is subject to incompatibility with newer versions of the game, if the coding structure is drastically changed.
There are players that have over 400 hours compared to your 150. I myself have ~337 hours in the game. I have no problem playing the game as intended if I cannot carry over my hours. It's 100% worth it.

My 150 hours are more important to me than someone else's 400 hours :) It doesn't matter if it's 100 hours, 500, or 1,000. This game is already a finished product that's simply being updated with patches. This game not online or competetive. There's no reason to wipe progress.
And if they want to say that the best experience after the story is added, will be obtained on a new character, then they can recommend everyone to create a new character after release. And everyone will decide for themselves. You create a new character, I'll keep the old one. And everyone will be happy.

My apologies. Not trying to negatively downplay your 150 hours. Of course it's worth it to you. The situation however is that it is NOT a finished or final product. Regarding saves becoming incompatible with updated builds, it's just a warning. Think of it as a possibility but not a guarantee.

It's so weird to be claiming something like this when it says right on the storepage that it's not a finished product lol
This game is far from a finished product. Having to start a new save on release is one of the risks you take when investing in an early access game. If you can't handle that risk you probably shouldn't be playing an early access title IMO.

I'll probably start a new save anyway even if it's not necessary once the 1.0 release happens. I'll probably start a new save on the 0.9 release too even. I like to experience these updates from a fresh point of view
