Only 30% of the players reached LV25?
I just got the achievement für reaching LV25 and noticed only 30% of the players got this. It only took me a few hours and so I wonder if many people are waiting for 1.0 to start playing at all?
Or were the achievements added recently and don't apply for players reaching this LV before?
Were there any infos about restarting new when 1.0 is released or is the progress from EA expected to carry over. If this is not the case I would rather hold on with my current playthrough and wait for 1.0.

lol "Torment Master" has less than 1% last time I checked. When I snagged it, it was at .01%

The Astronauts have said that they will do everything they can to not force a hard restart. They will try to let people carry over the saves they've been playing on, but they have not set this in stone.

There is still a small possibility, from what I understand, that 1.0 could force a hard reset. That possibility is minimal though.
Thanks for the info. Then I will hope for the best that my save carries over. I really like what I have seen so far and can't wait to dive deeper into the game.
That sounds about normal for most games. You'd be surprised the percentage of people that actually completely finish a game through achievements. It's way less than people imagine.
it's for many games, even very popular. the completion rate is very poor. it seems most people buy a game, run to post a review after 1 hours even positive, and then go on to the next shiny thing. odd, but it is what it is. add or short attention span epidemic, maybe
I started to play again and made a pact to surround myself once 1.0 releases.
Absolutely love Witchfire, nothing like it.
Plan on losing myself in it.
For now, i shall focus on work.
I know the completion rate is low on most games, but here I was surprised, because the achievements I unlocked during my first gameplay hours all were around 60-70 percent of players already did this. And then the next one, hitting LV25, it suddenly dropped to 30%.

It looks like many people tried the game out but stopped at a very early point, maybe now waiting for 1.0.
level 25 is probably when people go ahead and jack up their Gnosis without reading the warnings etc... and then get hurt without knowing what they are doing... I don't think the majority is waiting for 1.0 If a game grabs you and you have patience you'd think people would press on. Puzzling for any popular game. In Doom 16 only 18 percent killed 50 demons with the Chainsaw, I mean come on. but let's see the completion for 1.0 , it'd be interesting to compare

As soon as I read this I had to go see if I'd actually gotten that chainsaw achievement... Doom 2016 really didn't require you to use it that much. Now Eternal on the other hand...

It is kind of nuts when you start going through your library and looking at all the achievements that haven't been completed by most people. The end of game achievements are often absurdly low considering they had to pay for the game...

Actually on topic, did raising gnosis really make people struggle that much? The only difficulty spike I noticed was when I started dealing with corruption.
as I player I am *absolutely unconcerned* by steam achievements...go figure ^^
I am not concerned, it was an observation nothing more. Looking at the achievement rate gives you an interesting inside on how people play a game and makes it possible to see the many different ways to play a game.

In Witchfire I can see that most people seem to focus more on increasing their Gnosis compared to their Ascension level, because the achievement for the first Gnosis level up was achieved by 57% of all players while the achievement for the first Ascension Level Up was only achieved by 30% of all players. This may be the case because people play the game quicker then me and don't collect as much Witchfire as I do, maybe they are more efficient when it comes to completing the tasks.

My first idea was it has to do something with people waiting for the final release but a closer look at alle the achievements makes it more look like a playstyle choice.

I don't want to say one way to play is better then the other, but I always find such things interesting to see. It helps me as a player to understand my own way of playing a game better, when I can compare it to other playstyles.

Regarding Doom 2016: I also checked my achievements and found I unlocked this one but very late in the game, I unlocked it the day before I finished the campaign and I played the game over the course of 6 days.
I just realise how helpful looking at the achievements in retrospect can be to remember the game :)
This game is still in Early Access. A lot of people played before achievements were even a thing and might now be waiting for the full release. I unlocked level 25 over half a year after achieving other, more progressive achievements like using a prophecy, so I think this achievement was added later than EA release on Steam.

I also guess that there are players who bought the game in the summer sale due to awaiting a 1.0 release with a possible price change later in the year.
I personally haven't gotten it. I played a bunch in 0.3 or 0.4 and decided I'd park this title until 1.0 to avoid burnout. There are 15 achievements or so that have been added since I last played
I came back yesterday after a long break and played Marshland and Velmorne for the first time. In doing so, I also got my first look at the other characters and some story elements—like specific sequences right on the maps—and I thought to myself: "Wow, how cool it all feels now." On the other hand, I can easily imagine that many people would prefer to wait until everything is finished. Personally, I can't help myself and will keep playing, though I do regret it just a little bit. I bet playing the game for the first time once version 1.0 is out will be an incredibly cool experience. Maybe I'll even start a new save file then—who knows? xD
liked what ive played so far, so im waiting for 1.0 to go hard.
I remember when I got stuck in Subnautica and finally found a way to get out by using a command line, achievements didn't unlock anymore.
Because i used a code to unlock it, the system considered my game altered.
Maybe the same is true for Witchfire?
Can mods or cheat lines affect your achievement progress?
