Belltower is INSANE
The belltower is there to reset the calamity level. I just fought 10 minutes waves over waves of enemies, using up 7 potions.

Doing the calamity event takes me a minute and maybe 2 potions if I'm very unlucky. What's the point of the belltower, if it's just infinitely harder? It makes no sense, and is honestly no fun, if in comparison, I can just do the calamity and collect the rewards.

The bell tower ?

If you mean the cleansing bells, they aren't related to calamities, but to world corruption.
You do the cleansing bells for free witchfire and you thank them for it
Might as well run with corruption. I don’t see the difference if you have to fight waves of enemies either way.
world corruption and calamitys are different.

You should use the 4 leave clover if you want to lower your calamity threat.

bell toewrs are for corruption which stays in your game , calamitys end after you beat it.

So the Belltower is a place in the marshlands with a story event. After you have unlocked it, you need to climp to the top. During that event enemies spawn. This has nothing to do with corruption or cleaning corruption to my knlowledge. I don't know if during that story event endless enemies spawn until you climbed to the top. I would asume not but im not certain.

The cleansing bell frees the world of corruption if you defend it against five waves of enemies (at least thats how it worked for me every time). This defenitely shouldn't take 10 minutes. So i asume you got something mixed up there.
Yeah, I meant the cleansing bell.
I did a couple of more and had bells that didn't spawn any enemies and then some that spawned a - what I would describe as a - normal amount of enemies.

The first one I did obviously was bugged to hell, as wave 1 spawned hunreds of enemies for 10 minutes straight until I died.
Cleansing bells have no sense now, it's much easier to just go with 100% corruption with 3x heavy spell and 4x light spell. This system is fail after fail.
