Best ATC?
I'm looking for a good ATC, i have pro atc but it has no aircraft profiles and i have no idea how to set them up and it does not seem to want to play nice lately.

Why do you need an aircraft profile to use Pro-ACT/X???

For IFR flights, I like PRO-ATC/X. Have you tried reading the manual and using the support forums? http://www.pointsoftware.de/proatcxforum/forum/

For VFR flights, PF3. I am not wholly satisfied with it and have switched to PRO-ATC/X for IFR flights.

If I am flying in VR using FlyInside, I just use the default ATC.

That was my bad, i bought Pro ATC thinking it also had VFR support which was my bad, ill look into PF3 or just use default atc for VFR, i only fly VFR, maybe someday ill learn IFR flight.

Default ATC works fine for VFR flights. If you want to be in contact the entire trip, use Flight Following. Each controller hands you off to the next. (I *think* I remember that working if you don't have an IFR flight plan filed.)

IFR shouldn't be particularly difficult and you don't have to be in IFR weather to use an IFR flight plan.

Personally, I usually only used ATC if I wanted to request permission to transition someone's airspace, and I usually avoid controlled airspace these days. Of course you'll use it to taxi, take off and land, right? :)

IFR (flight or ATC) is pretty easy to learn in FSX:SE. You can use the default ATC for that and study the Instrument Pilot lessons in the in-sim lessons. The only thing I don't like about the default ATC is that it keeps bouncing me to different frequencies back and forth in certain regions. Third-party ATCs behave much more realistically, so you do not need to change radio frequencies every few minutes. Unfortunately, you need to do more setup work for third-party options.

I hope someday PRO-ATC/X will support VFR flights. The company that made it is still improving the IFR ATC and they are not going to consider supporting VFR flights until they feel they have perfected IFR ATC. I find PRO-ATC/X to be easier to use than PF3. I have an easier time getting consistently working ATC with PRO-ATC/X than PF3. Half the time PF3 screws up and I give up and switch to FSX's ATC mid-flight.
