Keeps Crashing
Can't even get into the game. The game constantly crashes after the intro and credits go through. What am I supposed to do? I use Intel HD 4600 if that helps at all. I have to keep the game in a small resolution for it to work, but the crashing is holding me back. Any help?

The game requires a 3D card to work, so if you try to run this on integrated graphics it probably goes wrong somewhere. Even while Intel advertises their Intel HD chips as being DX11 3D chips, that hardware is nowhere near the level of an actual Geforce or AMD ATI card. It works for simple and older games, but it is either very slow or incompatible with new and demanding games.

We are soon releasing a major upgrade to the engine underneath the game so perhaps that it runs better in that update, but it'll never be on par with real 3D cards.

You could try running the game in DirectX10 mode if needed. It might work. To try this run the game with commandline "-d3d10"

Also if you use a laptop we have seen cases where the laptop decides to use the Intel chip for the game, and not the 3D card. So if your laptop has both, you will want to force it to use the Nvidia or AMD ones for it.

Thanks for the response, but it's been almost 2 months since this was posted. Little late.

I don´t want to speak for sjoerd, but I have been wondering, late for what? For reading the minimum system requirements - DirectX11 Compatible 3D Card - GeForce 460 or equivalent and higher strongly recommended - Integrated graphics (Intel) may not work well? Or for what?

It was bumped up three hours ago by another user. I am sorry we missed your original message however. :(
The minimum stated requirements on the store page are well above an Intel 4600 unfortunately. Always make sure to check these.

Game Kills video driver during new game intro - i guess it is the intro - wenn the sun emerges from the left, around 45 degrees left

Using newest AMD Crimson drivers (16.3.2), W7 64 Bit - patched to the last -, Radeon R9 390 8GB ...
Tested all resolutions and ultra down to low settings ... same crash

Can you try to run it in DX10 mode? Does that work better? Start game with -D3D10

Yep ... DX10 mode works

Ok so in the soon to be released update we will first of all have a major update to the engine underneath which might fix your DX11 problem. If not we will also be releasing this update with improved DX10 support (mostly the shadows, they cut off at the moment). DX10 otherwise seems to run at about the same speed + everything seems to look the same except the colors are a little less bright and vibrant.

cool i can use both dx 11 and dx 10 the best of both worlds
ps i dont use beta drivers
16.3.2 runs nice
must uninstall crapatalyst control center otherwise it conflicts with crimson settings?

On my laptop with a 7700 + Intel HDxxxx and using the previous Crimson driverset it runs with DX11 ... Didn't test with the current beta drivers yet ... That said, i agree that the diferences are minimal ... looks great btw ;)
