Island size?
Are all of the islands tiny? Every LP I've seen features just some really tiny islands, Are there larger islands with room to do stuff and animals to hunt?

pigs and snakes are normally found on the bigger islands.

If you select the cartographer from the main menu you can see the size of the islands, and you will also notice that the map is 5x5 tile grid which means that islands can only have a certain size.
There are 2 types of islands, small and big(with high cliffs and/or large pine trees), both can vary some in size and shape, but always a lot smaller than a grid cell(there has to be some ocean between them too) :)

Depends on what you consider big. If you were to look at island sizes earlier in development what we currently have would be small and medium, not to mention when the biomes connected seamlessly and there were multiple tile islands. Some of our community members made some quite phenomenal islands (Not me I have the creativity of a brick lol) but they were truly amazing, I didn't get a chance to play around with many but some by another forum member TouriStarr I did manage to get a chance to play with before things changed.

I only consider big to what is currently available, besides most people call the islands with 'cliffs/tall pine trees' big islands, this way people know what we are talking about :)
If we call something small and medium a lot of people will expect big to be there too whether we're talking about islands i SD or the size of wife's underwear *looks over shoulder to check wife's not looking*
I know there was a period where there were big multi-tile islands(some called these huge), but the way the game loads and unloads biomes and having a small dead zone between biomes(approx 30 floor/raft tiles), I doubt that the hugeBIG islands will return, unless they decide to redo the biome load system (again).
I never got to play with those hugeBIG multi-tile islands, but I would have loved to try it, preferably in a bigger world than we have now :)

True, but it doesn't always allow for those coming from Youtube videos having seen older bigger island sizes.

As for huge, I know they changed how the biomes work, I am guessing they had reasons although it is a shame.

Maybe things will change when the grid world grows and the infinite world beyond the grid returns, then again maybe not heh.
