New video tutorial covering updated mechanics
Some excellent youtube tutorials were made a couple of years ago, but graviteam is constantly updated and with the fresh campaign I wanted players to have a reference to something that covers the new mechanics.

My goal was to create a comprehensive combat tutorial in one vid. All subjects are catalogued via timestamp in the description for quick reference. I didn't want people to waste time looking for something specific.

I hope this helps anyone who needs it. Copy and paste the external link if you want to locate a specific subject, and look in the description.

Great video. I have learned a couple of new ways to do things.

Now if only I could work out the best moves as the Germans in the new campaign?

Great videos. Thanks.
Maybe put Your Tutorial to Guides section. Your Tutorial is very valuable and it may lost betweet the topics.

As appendix.

1.For Deploment chapter

It is good to metion the overlooked ballance info in (Esc) screen (where You get the weather report etc.),info about Your forces and Enemy forces
is essential. It gives You some kind of "live inteligence raport". Gives You comparsion info. Rules and conditions, start the battle
or withdraw, or aviod battle, or maybe hide in forest... This report changes over time
durring battle so You can anticipate that You are loosing or winnig. How many forces in strength has the enemy etc...
It works in the simillar way the Total War ballance bar (top of the screen) works. Here in GT You've got numbers info instead of the ballance bar stripes.

6 For Indirect, on-map artillery chapter

Micromenagement tips for area fire:

-To fire when the area is 100% designated (saves the ammo, more precision, escpecially usefull for mortars)
When giving the "area fire"" command. for commander.
You can select Your guns, tanks, mortars, Hmgs (every unit that can do the area fire) and turn OFF the "AI fire cintrol"" for them
(icon with head and cogwheel) wait when the commander is 100% in target designation and then turn ON "AI fire cintrol" in mortars.
The units with "AI fire cintrol" set to ON will start to fire with 100% "accuracy""

-You can exlude or include/exclude specific units from area fire turning
"AI fire cintrol" ON/OFF. You don't need tho cancel Your area command to stop fireing, or setting hold fire. You just simply turn OFF AI
(it will take some seconds time until the stop - order delivery time)

-Fast correction of area fire. You can stop fireing temporarly by setting "AI fire cintrol" OFF for mortars(while area fire in commader still active).
You can give the new area fire order for commander/observer (if the newly designated area fire is close to previous one the calculation will start from high % value, range depended)
After the commaders reached 100% in calculation select mortars and turn ON "AI fire cintrol" for mortars. They will fire to new area now.

Other.
-The icon with arc arrow at the top of the screen shows the fire fields, where the uinit can fire

-I'm not sure abot that but the telephone wire link for the fordward observes cannot be longer then 1000m?

For the future.
(IMO the chapter 4 is the most interesting, coordinated flanking attack on enemy trenches with setting up delays)
Maybe if You find some time to prepare more case study tutorials regarding tactics on specific infinite topics like this.

-differeces and common parts in between Russian/Germany tactics based on units scecific for "fractions".
-setting up defences, with ATR, AT guns HMGs with and without trenches
-attacking enemy defences, trenches, tanks, HMGs nest's.
-terrain usage, snow, hills, forest, water, lakes, rivers etc.
-night combat
-how to use specific resourses, witch unit, tank, gun is good for what and how to use it.
-order wheel, witch formation to choose in specific situations (attack, escape, ambush, defend, relocate) for tanks, infantry, mixed formations etc.

Those are some well thought out and thorough notes. I never considered leaving the fire control box unchecked until coordinates are 100%, and that's a great suggestion. I'll put it in the description later, and make a post in the sticky.

The idea for breaking down indiviudal units and their capabilities is an interesting thing to consider as well. Appreciate the input.

Excellent work. I did laugh when your arty didn't fire in your first demonstration. Black Snow is an absolute mare for on-map artillery with all the elevation and trees. Mortars, leigs and soviet regimental guns are the only ones that fire with any degree of reliability. As ems said, you can click the arcing arrow button third from the right on the hud to show what they can hit.

Would you consider doing a full campaign play-through? I'd certainly watch.

Yeah, the neighbors definitely heard a torrent of angry language after taking the time setting all that arty up only to have it turn into a complete failurexD

Never knew about the arc button along the top. Thanks for the tip.

Outstanding tutorial! Learned many things and I finally understand on-map arty command. Would love to see you do one for the operational/replacement part of the game.
