**TROUBLESHOOTING & BUG REPORTING TIPS**

If you're reading this thread, likely something went wrong while trying to run Khet 2.0. We're really sorry to hear that, but hopefully we can get you up and running right away.

You don't have to do ANY of this to ask for support. These instructions are just to help you out... so you can possibly fix the problem on your own, or to help-us-help-you so that we can fix your problem faster.

THREE MOST COMMON FIXES FOR CRASHES

• When the game crashes on startup, about 3/4 of the time, the solution is to upgrade your video drivers (which is free & fairly easy). It's so common, that we even made a website to guide you through it regardless of what type of computer you're using:

  Simple enough, right? Still didn't work, or have some other issue?... please report a bug!
  
• Often, if you're seeing a bug, you might have an old version of the game. To make sure you have the latest version, just quit Steam and re-open it... that makes it check for updates.
  
• Sometimes the download of the game (or an update to the game) goes wrong. To fix that:
  
  • Open Steam, and go to your Library.
    
  • Right-click on "Khet 2.0"
    
  • Select "Properties"
    
  • Go to the "Local Files" tab
    
  • Click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." button. If it updates something, then this might have fixed things for you!

BUG REPORTING TIPS

We can skip some back and forth using these tips!

• Starting a thread in Khet 2.0's "Issues" forum is a great way to get a solution.
  
• The game is on Windows, Mac, & Linux and they all have unique issues, so please mention which OS you're seeing the problem on.
  
• If you're finding it hard to explain what you're seeing, please slap a screenshot in there. If the game is running, you can press F12 for Steam to take a screenshot. If you're not sure how: here are some instructions[www.take-a-screenshot.org] and if you plan to take a bunch of screenshots in the future, there are good tools such as Jing[www.techsmith.com] for Windows and Skitch[evernote.com] for Mac & Windows.
  
• Seeing the log file helps us a bunch! See the LOG FILE section below for how to get it...

LOG FILE

Seeing the log file helps us a bunch. If you copy/paste the log file's contents to us, we will be very happy like this: :D ...here's how to find the log file
on Windows and Linux:

• Open Steam, and go to your Library.
  
• Right-click on "Khet 2.0"
  
• Select "Properties"
  
• Go to the "Local Files" tab
  
• Click the "Browse Local Files..." button.
  
• In the folder that opens up, the file "logFile.txt" is what you're looking for. You can open it then copy the text and paste it into your forum question.

on Mac OSX:

• Open Steam, and go to your Library.
  
• Right-click on "Khet 2.0"
  
• Select "Properties"
  
• Go to the "Local Files" tab
  
• Click the "Browse Local Files..." button.
  
• You will see a single "Khet" file which is the ".app" right-click (or command-click) that icon, then choose "Show Package Contents"
  
• This will show a "Contents" folder... open that. Then you will see "MacOS" folder: open that.
  
• In the folder that opens up, the file "logFile.txt" is what you're looking for. You can open it then copy the text and paste it into your forum question.
