A price before release!!
Wow! This is indeed a historic event for Slitherine. They announced a price for one of their games before release. Never in their history have they done this.

Well done Slitherine. You're all growns up! See, it wasn't that bad, was it?

Sorry but the price is Steam price or Slitherine/Matrix price??? because in Steam taxes are included but in Slitherine/Matrix not.

Thanks.

Slitherine/Matrix games are priced the same on Steam and their own websites.

Yes and no, i buy Salvo but i need pay extra euros in taxes, Slitherine/Matrix prices are with taxes excluded but in Steam they are included in final price.

Hello, this is the Steam price. On Slitherine/Matrix, VAT depends on the country you live so it could be slightly more expensive indeed.

Thanks for the clarification.

The prices work out almost pretty similar. As Steam know where the users are as you have to be logged in to view so you get the price with VAT. We don't require users to register or login so we dont know where they are from so cant show VAT until they tell us. However we charge the same amount of VAT as Steam and the only difference are to do with the exchange rates. Ours changes day by day but steam only update their exchange rate periodically so sometimes they diverge if the currency has moved.

My apologies for my misinformation. I live in the U.S.A., and the prices are the same.

No problem :) As I understand it VAT is small to non existent in the US depending on the state you are in or possible where you are buying from but I think it ends up with no VAT being charged so the price matches exactly in $.

I think in fact that almost only we Danes can complain about taxes as we pay 25% when we buy a game :(

Hey don't forget us, we are on 20% VAT in the UK (pretty sure its only books and a few other specialist goods that are not under that bracket)

In the end we are all ****** but we can say thanks to dont need pay taxes with unicorn blood lol.

PD: i need think on it, for wargames i dont like need Steam in part because i dont want launch it when i want play them and in part because i prefer game directly from devs to prevent dirty problems with patches and mods.

You could use Offline Mode to play without logging in to Steam to play.

I know you can disable Automatic Updates through Steam as well, but there's some fine print to go with that.
