Operation: Black Mesa

[UPDATED] Development threatened by unspecified violation to wokism
Reports stir that a long-term developer of the project unleashed blood spilling words on one of his social media accounts (not literal blood, but injury to feelings, which we all know is practically the same thing). The words are alleged to express certain phobias (defined as irrational fears). Fortunately, it seems ‘the expression of irrational fears’ police, brave self-appointed citizens, possibly including co-workers and employers, found this individual’s out-of-work expressions unrelated to the project and have indicted him swiftly. The culprit of the violation of wokism is now on probation. Pending the results of re-education efforts, the developer may be allowed to continue development at a later, undetermined date, or be terminated from the project completely. Furthermore, there are reports members of the team were also grievously injured by the developer’s expressions of irrational fears, even some going so far as to leave the project. So far there is no indication if they have been hospitalized or will undergo trauma therapy. We can only wish them a speedy recovery. The studio has also alluded to taking certain precautionary measures to avoid that these crimes are committed again by other members. Though not stated, this could include binding moral prescriptions via compulsory contracts that can reach beyond the confines of traditional law. Such a brave new world we have to look forward to where we can trust our neighbor, co-worker, and/or employer to police our speech, thought, and actions, in and out of work, according to their personal moral prescriptions, and above all protect people’s feelings. The studio assures us that it will not associate itself with a number of phobias, and apparently it seems this will be done with such earnest as to police its employees’ out-of-work lives and expression to assure they don't appear there either, as the contents of their out-of-work lives may be interpreted as association with the studio and its endorsements by way of approximation.

Senior level designer on the project for 10 + years, Brandon “EvilGoodGuy” Smith, said some ‘phobic’ things on his personal social media. Reports have remained ambiguous about what he said or even the type of phobia in question. The studio has suspended him from the project and depending on if he appropriately changes his ways, thoughts, speech and shows contrition he may be reinstated or terminated from the project. You can find their official statement on their Discord (as of now).

[UPDATE] It would appear that all documentation of the culprit-developer’s out-of-work hurtful words have been removed from the various places online where they were published, and therefore it is mostly impossible to know what the culprit explicitly said outside the project on his social media. Some things can be gleaned from reactions and conversations in direct reference to the documentation by persons who read it when it was available, though. For instance, a person who claims to be a voice actor on the project and identifies as transgender has said the developer referred to members of the transgender community as “groomers” of children. Also it seems the lead developer was hesitant to censor the culprit’s out-of-work speech by way of termination from the studio, leading to 11 brave souls to leave the project in peaceful protest wherein they made a clear stand that they will not work in a place where their co-workers’ out-of-work speech, thoughts, and conduct are not appropriately policed by the studio - where traditional law is limited in carrying out such censorship and moral prescription, the studio must act. In addition to transphobia, it is alleged that the culprits blood spilling words included homophobic and xenophobic sentiments such as sweeping, generalized statements and even suggesting that some or all (again unclear) members of these communities and/or groups should be “institutionalized,” apparently suggesting that some or all of these people are in some way mentally ill. The tone, mode, or context for these alleged words are still unknown to us. What is known is that feelings were criminally hurt, and this is violence. What is also clear is that the 11 brave souls who left the project will by no means co-work with anyone who maintains thoughts of this nature and/or has any liberty to express them even out of work. It is yet unclear whether they will maintain this same conviction in all walks of life and employment and if they will apply it to persons of faith wherein the faith maintains similar beliefs, language, prayers, and holy texts. We might assume so, lest this brave peaceful protest be but virtue-signaling grandstanding malarkey. Additionally in regards to the culprit, there is a 2 year old YouTube video where he plays a video game wherein he kills zombified “social justice warriors” (titled ACQUITTED Surviving the Leftist mob! Ep1 posted by EvilGoodGuy). The culprit can be heard delightfully saying words to the effect of ‘you aren’t going to get me with your leftist rhetoric’ as he mows down the SJW zombies with an AR style assault rifle. The bloodlust is palpable, and it would seem this individual feeds on the very tears of people with hurt feelings.

Some might suggest it was hypocritical of the 11 brave souls to refuse to work with the culprit because the culprit was willing to work with them despite having different personal moral convictions about their private lifestyles, actions, words, and opinions, that in fact, the 11 brave souls are the intolerant hateful ones unable to treat public spaces, such as public projects and professional work, as ideological neutral zones wherein persons of different walks of life, creeds, convictions, moral prescriptions, and worldviews may coexist and even be productive in a shared artistic passion peacefully. This tawdry argument must be torn up from the root! A future day may come where all aspects of persons’ private lives, expressions, and beliefs conform to the principles and values of those of us who are right, but for now it is incumbent of us who are right to compulsively obligate our persuasion upon others who don’t see that we are right. Even in public spaces, we must not tolerate persons with these ideas or expressions, irrelevant if they keep them in their private lives or not. We will compel them in the public spaces by way of our intolerance, to force them to change their private beliefs, expressions, and views. We can look forward to a day when federal law prohibits hurting anyone's feelings in any way, including with the metaphysical violence that can be words, but until then, it is up to us to be the law.

There was no indication that the mod was going to be released this year. To my knowledge there's no indication of how far or close it is to release.

Another game bites the dust due to political posts on Twitter.

When will people realize that they should keep their opinions to themselves? It costs you nothing to not post on Twitter.
Yes!!! I mean like OMG, it's so easy to give up your freedoms, like freedom of speech, and it costs nothing. I can't possibly understand why people would push back on this. This isn't the 90s anymore. It is not enough to keep your personal opinions, thoughts, and beliefs, including religiously motivated ones, out of the workplace or other public spaces. Resign to whispering them in a dark corner of your home and pray we are not peeking through the window into your space. Fear that we get offended. You will be sanctioned, and our law extends farther than traditional law can go to control your mouth and words. We will stalk your private social media. You had a thought? If there is even a chance that it offends one of us, or we feel the itch to virtue signal dramatically, keep it in the closet of a windowless room of your home. Hopefully one day we can penetrate that too, that we may eradicate the very existence of hate speech. And remember, hate speech is defined by us, because we are absolutists and absolutely right. We, our feelings, our fragility, and our insecurities are the law.

What the hell?? Can't we just get over things like these? Ffs, look around the world, there are so many bad things happening, much much worse than your feelings fetting hurt. Like, Jesus, american society literally become such fragile, spinless soyboys. Rest of the world will eat you if you won't get yourself together!

you are a victim. you are a poor, poor victim who has been harassed and persecuted by a cruel, omnipotent, dictatorial regime of ideas that threatens to engulf the whole world, decimate everyone's liberty, and eat all the little children.

it's no wonder you are outraged, you have witnessed firsthand how the heroic underdog who dared to defy the new universal order was quickly prey to all kind of unspeakable oppression, it must have been so painful for you to endure such a brutal display of injustice. it's a miracle you have survived such emotional torture.

thank god you chose to speak out against this sort of thing, your efforts will not be in vain. you and your input are not irrelevant, not at all! you articulated your ideas so well in those texts and made such witty remarks! anyone with a brain can tell that you are smart, and funny and undisputedly right! your complaints have been heard and action will be taken!

please keep fighting the good fight for mankind's sake. it's only thanks to extraordinary acts of courage such as yours that the demons are kept at bay. never doubt your convictions and never, ever change. if you question yourself, the communists win!

for now, you have earned a well deserved moment of respite, so there is nothing left to do except to take heart and continue to hold the fort like you do so aptly. would you kindly take a seat on this chair? reinforcements will be here shortly to aid you in the upcoming battles. i promise.

You can think whatever you want, but you don't have to announce your feelings to the world when everyone knows that today's public freaks out over and wants to distance themselves from the slightest bit of perceived bigotry.

You can scream the n-word into your pillow every day for all I care. But if you shout it on Twitter every day, you can't be surprised when nobody wants to work with you and your projects fail.
Man. The internet ruins a lot of things.
If folks realized the amount of skeletons people have in their closet that isn't posted on social media...there would be a frenzy.

I've had a lot of friends that were not the same person at work. What they do with their personal life isn't my business. That goes for social media too.

Work and life are separate. As it should be.

THANK YOU!! Bunch of crybabies butthurt because someone expoused their personal beliefs, whether good or bad, despite having the constitutional right to do so.

Grow a spine and suck it up, move on. It's not that freakin' hard!!!!
