Fix for black screen
to fix the black screen error you need to go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops III\players, then open note pad and put this in it

then save it as config.ini and save it as all files

should fix it for ya

Exactly, seems to happen with older lga 1150 haswells

OP you are awesome now it shows some more but it crashes at some downloading screen

People were saying that a couple anti virus programs were causing that error. Though that could be an issue with network discovery being disabled by default on win 10

This worked for me. Game is now playable. Still some issues.......

I did what you said and I get a bit farther before it locks up. I see press enter to start, the copyright and version but then it freezes again.

I've heard people are also freezing where the game updates the server version due to an antivirus issue, kinda sounds like that may also be your problem

Im get to press enter and then the game tries to check files and after a few seconds crashs
