Have you subscribed to any custom maps ? That will store them on your machine .

Required =/= real install size

I have no idea why it still says 180ishGB required when you try to install it, but the actual installed size with all DLC is around 110-115GB. It's not 180, I know that much.

You can't uncheck DLCs unless you're past the allocation process and it's already trying to download the game.

I’ll look into this, for workshop items I have 0 items, I’m subscribed to nothing, I triple checked.

The fact that it jumped from ~100GB to 180GB is just very strange from the last time I installed it, although I did not look at any news/update notes yet.

As I said it's not actually 180GB, the game will always say it requires 180GB, but the actual install size (post allocation) is roughly 110GB with all DLC.

I understand, thank you. Its the question why it needs 180GB.

No idea. Maybe it's a straight-up mistake or Treyarch wanted to make sure you have some leftover space, for whatever reason?, but the allocation process thinks BO3 is that big when in fact it isn't. Even the download size isn't that big, download is slightly less than installed (I think 90GB with all DLC).
Bottom line is that Steam tells your PC that it needs 180GB when it in fact doesn't require 180GB. If you have less than 180GB of available space, Steam will refuse to even start the allocation process.

True. Now bo3 will need more space and could be for many other pc players

CoD on PC as a whole is a mess. Gigantic install sizes, piss-poor compression, dumb pricing, bad optimization (to some extend) and some other minor things.

Thank you all for responding to my discussion. I guess you can say Call of Duty is on a downfall especially with Black Ops 4.
