Did the game get your location right?
I live in Germany, yet the game seems to place me somewhere off the coast of West Africa.

I have severe problems finding matches, with queue times often exceeding multiple hours. I'm looking to find out if the two are connected.

Are there any other people out there with incorrect locations? How is matchmaking for you guys?

That's very funny and all, but can you please keep that♥♥♥♥♥♥on /pol/ and use this discussion section to actually discuss matters related to the game?

I have the same problem located in Australia yet CFN shows me in Japan. It also takes me hours to find matches perhaps it is the cause?

There has to be a connection. I have yet to hear of someone with an incorrect location who doesn't have trouble finding opponents.

It works fine for me and points to Arizona

it actually totally blew my mind once I noticed

you're probably onto something with that correlation between incorrect location and not finding opponents, maybe it's trying to match you with players from that region and you're having a hard time because you're, well, not in that region lol. You should tweet this to the server team

Also you don't happen to use a VPN right?
Wezilla Feb 21, 2016 @ 7:55pm
My point is perfect. I have no VPN. Be good boy.
Squee55 Feb 21, 2016 @ 7:55pm
I have never used a VPN for anything.

What reason could I possibly have for using a West African VPN to buy or activate a game on steam? People use VPNs to either get games cheaper or get around region restrictions, neither of which would apply here. There is no West African steam store, and there are no regional restrictions on SF5.

I live in China, same to you.I can't matching with other people

It had me in the right location on the map and I still can't find people to play with. So those things don't have any connection.

I have the same issue. The game is placing me one time zone over from where I actually live.

It doesn't work that way. It could very well be that your problems are caused by something else. So far everyone whose map location was incorrect has reported issues with matchmaking, most of them severe.

To prove that there's no connection we would need one (or preferrably several) person who can find matches DESPITE being in the wrong location.

Ooh I see now....
Maybe Microsoft (xbone) is trying to get revenge by releasing a special Windows Update on every Windows PC system so that the Online and Cross Platform PC/PS4 will fail.
Perhaps they released the special Windows Update months ago,who knows.

Then comes Microsoft (xbone) with Cross Platform games PC/XBONE with good updates
and giving people the best Online and Cross Platform experience.

( I was just thinking out loud )

"About the story above: Can this scenario really happen? Is it already happening right now or can this happen in the the future? Platform wars.:csgohelmet:

I think it's probably due to the DNS that was setup with your ISP. I could be wrong, but did you ever try to tracert your ISP's DNS?
