unfortunately the savegame folder is empty. I installed Steam on my drive D:\Steam. Maybe this is the problem... :/
X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\*YourSteamIDNumber*\310560\remote\savegame@
If I delete the game-ID folder a new one will be created after I launched the game. So I think that steam+DR have the correct write and read permissions...
Thanks for your support
I have at 310560

Hello,
Where in the game were you when you chose to "save and quit to menus"? Was this seen in a custom event, Career, or online? Did you save and quit via the pause menu, or while at a service area?
Thank you,
Katie
Hi,
It was in the Career mode, in the service area. One time I had raced 4 stages, one time just two - both times any progress I made afterwards didn't get saved. (several hours yesterday, just a few stages today)
Hey,
Could you please verify integrity of game cache? To do this right click on DiRT Rally and select properties, select the "LOCAL FILES" tab and select "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE..." The game will need to be closed to do this, and it may take a little while for it to validate files.
Let me know if this does or doesn't sort the issue, just trying to rule out one thing at a time :)
Katie
All files validated successfully.
So far I haven't been able to reproduce the issue, though - I'm going to experiment around with alt+tab some more.
Another thing I'm wondering is this:
Does the game load the save file from the steam cloud or the local one?
In at least one of the instances the game crashed after alt+tabbing - maybe the save didn't get synchronized with the cloud and not loaded when I started the game again?
