Persona5: The Phantom X

2nd palace boss is way to hard
Seriously though. 2nd phase is hard for some reason even though my characters are at the reconmmended level for it. Whats not fair is the first phase with Miiyazawa shadow clone jitsu can't tell who's the real one so I just randomly attack each one. 2nd phase is a god awful fight because of the brainwash skill the boss has

for the clones, there is actually a tell. the real one has more HP, and if you let them attack you, at the end of the animation the real one with fumble with the sword instead of sheathing it correctly.

First phase clones are easy between looking at the HP heart bar and the real one slouches on his stance frequently during idle

Second phase you're supposed to cure dizzy before it becomes brainwash either via an item or skill (You should have a few recovery items already to deal with this)

The rest is straightforward and to use highlights and/or support most effectively

In the final phase with the sword clones, just look for the tail attached to the the base and avoid using multi hit attacks

For me the problem is that i run out of turns :/ Even with recomended level.
All cards upgraded, skills too.
I was able to beat the boss with a level 49 wonder with arahabald persona (makes you resist everything he throws at you pretty much) and genbu (for the ice), 50 closer (was debating swapping with Skull), 50 mona, 50 puppet, and the provided story 55 soy.
Shadow clones you can tell by looking at their animation (the real one twitches a lot of head movement and the fakes stay perfectly still) or as said above you can use intel and see who has the higher health, which afterwards never changes so telling who the real one is pretty easy. Only use single target stuff with this phase.
Use puppet's mermaid song whenever you can to build up seashells and shields focus mostly on single targets throughout the fight.
Once he starts going into the screen and inflict someone with brainwashing (I had a handful of relax gel so use that. IF WONDER HAS ARAHABALD MAKE HIM USE THE ITEMS AND EVERYONE ELSE GUARD. The boss will TICKLE wonder. then once the boss comes back out hit him) if you're unable to shield people with puppet's that's why I have arahabald and genbu who provides shields with highlights (use genbu's devotion of the flesh on the person being targetted if unable to use any multi shields)
Swords are fairly simple they're weak against ice so use Soy's hatchet also his highlight and Wonder's Genbu (or any persona with an ice spell, though I prefer Genbu for it's highlight when you can't use soy's) to bring it down and this is where I'd start using puppet's tide of dream to increase your damage based on your seashells stacks. To tell the difference between the swords just look for the pink tail at the hilt of the sword. Focus only on that sword, once you bring it down just beat up the boss.
I've probably gotten lucky with the timing of my highlights being available and puppet's support.

I beat it in 80 turns without losing any character, all characters max lvl, wonder lvl 50+, weapons max lvl, persona skills max lvl, revelation cards max lvl, weapon forged to max.

Using Morgana, Kotone(max Damage), Soy lvl provided in story and Miyu as Support giving shields and elemental damage.

in the phase when he puts swords in the floor, dont attack any of those swords cuz you will increase his damage when he resurface for each attack you make.

You don't even need it to attack. It has different idle animation to other two. The one that moves his head, like he is drunk/sleepy is the real one.
you just have to wait and watch which one of him twitches around, 2nd phase just use items to remove cc

For me the tell was that the real one was animated, it bobbed its head, the clones didn't, it was super obvious which one was the real one

Same with the clone sword, anyone paying attention won't struggle at all
Maybe it´s just me but it´s noticable that the devs seem to have the idea that everyone has a decent healer like Morgana already in their team and with the Mina Banner now droped it´s more then obvious that they want to sell her cus she has exactly the skills needed (group heal and cure debuffs) for this very battle to overcome it.

It was already noticable before that the battles will start to get tougher but seeing what we already have to deal with the chapter 2 boss i´m getting worried where this game will go cus if the devs just make every encounter just more difficult and release just the char needed to "counter the boss mechanic" this will be a very bad thing for the game as imo this is just an artificial difficult spike that should encourage to spend money to get the featured char just to overcome a certain battle.

Well means for me that i will be stuck in 2nd chapter for quite some time now before i can overpower the boss with higher level and stats as it already feels like the story is the endgame contend that normally requires certain teams and all to overcome them.

She would make it easier, sure. But, you don't need a dedicated healer slot to overcome the 2nd boss. You can use Wonder as the healer, along with Shun who has Icy Defense, and if you have puppet, that's a 3rd source.

You also have access to a ton of healing and cure items that you can bring with you.

I can't even survive the boss... even with lvl 60 Mona... if I don't block he one shots 2 of 3 members if I try to heal he one shots the healers...

all lvl60 with lvl15 revelation cards... and 4 + 5* Weapon... worst is that I can't skip the cutscene to 2nd phase...

I just learned that the Asian versions of this game have a feature that'll nerf any boss if you don't beat them the first time. We are the only ones who don't get it, while having way less resources in general and being rushed through banners :D

Absolute joke
This is clearly made to make you spend money on stamina to upgrade your team. Apparently CN server had an easier boss.
Devs are really toying with us.

Sorry but if it happens then you are doing something wrong. Boss is not very hard and level 50 should have little problem with it. It just require to sit a while, think and plan your squad so you will have everything balanced.
This is not level of bosses from Shin Megami Tensei for sure.
ya was really was having fun until this fight. not only are the mechanics ridiculous but the as far as i got there was already 5 stages wtf. worse part is do to the stamina system you cant even lvl. all this has done is make me want persona 6 more.
