Will buying the client on Steam force me to create a new account?
If I purchase the client from Steam, does it automatically create a new ESO account bound to my Steam account? Or does it give me a code that I can use on a previously existing ESO account? I ask because I played the beta, and would like to bind the game to that account, but if buying it on Steam forces me to make a new account, then I will just buy it from the ESO main site. I did not see any information pertaining to this posted on the FAQs in these forums.

As far as I know the accounts aren't linked. If you buy the game on Steam you'll get a CD key just like at every other retailer. You then have to create your ESO account, etc. Steam will only download the standard game launcher. You can't auto-login through Steam or anything like that so far.
So you should be fine buying on Steam and then applying the key to your existing account.

you need to go over and read the thread in customer service on the eso forums to be sure but this is what I think happens. If you buy a second account on steam you can login using your account from the regular client. Hoever you wont get the additional 30days, the dog, or anything else. I think its kinda like changing clients. if you played beta only then your account is wiped so you can jsut buy either client and you have to setup a new account

You can log into your beta account and redeem your Steam key.
