Beta Revoke
Hi all.

We have received several threads on the forums from users concerned about a recent message they received from Steam regarding the Super Dungeon Bros beta. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify the issue and apologise for any confusion or concern this may have created.

From the 14th to the 24th of October we ran a closed Beta for Super Dungeon Bros on Steam. Beta keys were issued to those who had signed up via the Super Dungeon Bros website, as well as the Alienware Indie Arena.

Once the Beta was complete we began the process of withdrawing the Beta client from Steam (as do many other developers and publishers once their beta is complete) with the help of Valve. This is a standard procedure for many developers and publishers who will subsequently create a new client in Steam for their retail release.

However, during this time we became aware of several users reportedly receiving a message stating that “Your recent Product code activation has been revoked due to a problem processing payment for this time”.

Whilst this message was accurate in that the product code activation (for the Super Dungeon Bros beta) had indeed been revoked, it was inaccurate for the message to state that the issue was down to a problem with the payment method of said user. This understandably caused a level of concern amongst Steam users worried about payment issues and potential flagging issues on their accounts.

Unfortunately, this was a default message from Steam that we as publisher, and React Games (as developer) were unable to control and or change.

We would like make it clear to all beta testers that in no way are they responsible for the removal of the Super Dungeon Bros beta client, and that this is indeed standard procedure following the closure of the beta client and subsequent launch of the retail client.

We have subsequently discussed the issue with Valve and once again apologise for any concern this message caused.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and assure you that we are doing all we can to resolve any issues that may be outstanding within the retail client.

Steam doesn't download the game?
Whenever I try to download the game it finishes the download instantly but it didn't really download anything, as if there wasn't anything to download to begin with. Any help?

It's not like you were going to buy it anyway if you did get to keep the beta key.

It was a beta week key, it was to be removed only. Many such keys are given which allows access for that week and then its removed.

This is not the point, having these blantant annoying messages from steam isn't an acceptable way to do things. Make people sound like criminals for activating keys they were given, there are other ways to handle this and this dev handled this BADLY!
