Specializing Platforms Needs Re-balancing
I'll admit that even though I've played just 170+ hours, I never noticed that you can specialize platforms for either Colony Comfort of Colony Maintenance until just now. I tried it a bit and found it "lacking", especially in the case of specializing a platform for Colony Comfort.

I understand that specializing a platform will have trade offs, but drastically reducing building space to only get an additional 100 storage points in either specialization is a major drawback, especially since that once you get Superior Engineers, and a lot of them by default if you do a good job and don't have any colonists die or desert for various reaons, you'll need a lot of Estate buildings which only house 8 colonists. I'm on day 1500+ and I have over 60 Superior Engineers, causing my default colony to produce only 450 comfort points and store 450 comfort points. I need 1000+ comfort points to have the residential buildings to provide moral. I have the max 2 Zepplins to produce 800 comfort points but that leads me to the issue when you have at least 100 Superior Engineers. You will need 800 comfort points just for them alone. I have over 100 Master Enginners that require 400+ comfort points and hundreds of Senior and Junier Engineers.

As for morale, I've finished researching all entertainment buildings so they produce +2 morale points, giving a total of +12 moral points. However keep in mind that a colony that doesn't produce enough base comfort points will give you a negative moral point for your residential buidlings. For example a Superior Engineer staying in an Estate Building will provide either -8 if your base colony comfort point production is below the required. For example if your base colony can only produce 750 base comfort points, your colony is at level 12 (I think), and your colony requires 1004 base comfort points, each Superior Engineer staying at an Estate will have -8 morale points. Of couse "premium food" and entertainment can counteract it, but if you start cooking these "premium foods", your colonists' health will start suffering, causing further morale drop. You can counter this with medicines, but that requires another production chain that requires the same farms to produce fungi that can be turned into medicines. I already have 5 farms a piece for each food group (cereal, fruits, grains, vegetables). One player posted that he's making maki sushi and has 5 farms just producing rice and it isn't even enough for his 100 colonists. I have over 300.

In the end it seems that to keep high morale, you have to focus entirely almost on colony comfort point production and farm production in order to keep high morale and health. That means specializing in colony comfort platforms (and by same token maintenance production platforms) that leave not enough space to build self sufficient production chains for the more expensive items you want to sell to make money.

In the end you don't need that much space for your colony so going for comfort specialization should be ok if you want to maximize morale. Regarding food, superior one has been boosted after latest patch and if you put dishes of 3 or 6 different categories on your menu, you can gain an extra (great) morale bonus. *It appears a chef hat on the food menu once you put your first dish explaining it.

Regarding food for morale, that's the issue. You cannot produce enough raw materials to maintain producing it for all your colonists when you have 500 of them unless you almost nothing but farms. Also your colonists' health suffer when making maki sushi, greenburgers, etc.
