This is the only way to get the message across to them. Vote it down.

Great company. Stupid PR decisions.
Calm down, everyone, the game is still good. You just have to have patience, go play something else until Aug 1st, jeez.

Absolutely the best way to show your discontent. They rode the hype train to make money, now push the hype train in the other direction and hit them in the wallet

No, they rode this train KNOWING it was going down like this cause they were making money. They KNEW people were doing this, they KNEW they were making money off a disappoint. This was on purpose, and so should the reviews
Wow, I didnt even think of this! It worked amazingly well with bethesda and the paid mods fiasco. Show hinterlands that we, the consumer, will NOT put up with this crap
Just updated my review to negative, very disappointed in hinterlands.

This game is great but honestly its been years of getting jerked around by hinterlands, theyve had enough opportunities to be transparent with the community.
That's not cool. I'll review the game not the PR, and it's a great game.

If only everyone would think the way you do...
You dont know if it was on purpose, sometimes projects get delayed, the PR guy did mess it up by not telling the community what the countdown was for and just let the mystery hype get bigger. It was a bomb.

the game IS the company. it's an EA title, let the people buying it know what kinda devs they can expect. Your review tool is not just for gameplay
Think about what you intend to do.

Think about it really hard.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. How much money did you pay so far for "The Long Dark" and all its DLCs. Did you buy the individual regions for the full price of 20 dollars a piece, or did you somehow magically get a discount? Was the base game priced at full 60 dollars, or did you somehow magically get it at a discount?

2. How much entertainment did you get so far? When you compare it to other games, did you get more, or less, from TLD?

3. Have the developers indicated any sort of "money grab" tendency?

4. Let's say that you and others manage to somehow bring the overall / recent scores down - from current 80-90% range to 40-60%. What do you think the impact on Hinterland Studio will be? Do you think that they will somehow magically speed up their development? Do you think that the Story mode release will bring as much money as it would if the reviews remained in the 80-90% range? Do you think they are more likely, or less likely, to keep producing top quality content for the franchise?

Why smear campaign a game (a really good game that's only getting better) just because of one pr "mistake"? (As you call it)

That's not intelligent it's stupid spiteful and childish

Please explain to me what horrible things did Hinterland force you to do (when you say you have been "jerked around")?

What actions were you able to do with the game a month ago that you cannot do now?

What options did you have last month, or a year ago, and now no longer have?
