(To The Devs) Constructive Criticism of The New Tech Tree & How It Should Be Fixed

It is no secret that the new tech tree has stolen several tiers of very important parts from the "lower tier" users. These parts not only made the game fun, but they added diversity that kept me coming back for more. I have literally gone from playing nonstop yesterday, to only playing a bit today. I also decided against paying for anything, until this situation is resolved properly.

Here is a diagram of the current tech tree. As you can see, there are missing parts.

Here is a diagram of the proposed solution.

If you guys want to make a successful game, you need to put your customers first, and money second. If you keep changing the tech tree to continue to force new users to spend money in order to unlock the "cool" parts, then you will lose customer satisfaction, therefore losing money.

Also, while I have your attention:
- when using an airship, the game kicks you if you don't use WASD, even if you are using the mouse. this is incorrect. please fix this.
- when you level up, a giant banner blocks your view. this is an insult to those of us who are in the middle of a big battle and need to be able to see the enemy.
- when you exit (exit sign) the assembly bay, it is impossible to return
- the draw distance is so low, that I always see the edge of the geometry, and yes, I have a gaming pc, and yes, the game is at the highest setting (no, i am not asking to change the fog distance, i am glad that the fog limits sniper range)
- there is no "sandbox" mode, where we have unlimited resources to build and play offline/LAN
- you are hosting the game servers, yet, you don't charge to use them, therefore you need to allow us to host "listen" servers, that way we can have better service without costing you money
- you should eventually allow "dedicated" servers that co-exist with the Steam Workshop to allow other game-modes, mods and etc... (i still play Skyrim, after 200+ hours, because I can mod it any way I like to keep it interesting)
- sometimes my ship spawns underground
- selling parts takes 50% depreciation, even though they have been repaired. this is not realistic, and hampers creativity. 25% depreciation would be more palpable.
- when the servers are overloaded, my game will freeze and crash constantly.

I compleatly agree with this.
New players are at a disadvantage and the game is no fun.

However, now new players will have a chance to learn how to build a good vehicle and will stop complaining that rails are overpowered and such because their craft can withstand some hits.

I also agree with this.

Granted, the change to the tech tree suggest to me that the devs are heading to a pay to win type game. The change forces a grind in order to get to the point to use a plane build, or you can use your hard earned money to unlock it much earlier. Which will now make it a big advantage over those that dont pay to unlock.

There wasn't any mention of changes to the amount of CPU you get per level or any restrictions to what you can and can't use based on your tier.

So my only conclusion is that this change is a way to boost sales of GC.

That is true. They really need to make the first 5 teirs much easier to get so people are not limited for a significant amount of play time.

I'm not a fan of the tech-tree changes, but I'll accept them.

I do hate that they are trying to force me to play at tier 6. It takes a lot in-game money just to get to that point. Most of the time I play late at night. As a result, there aren't *quite* enough people online above tier 3. Additionally, it's much easier to build a powerful machine at tier 2 or 3, and simply grind for credits. I'm not sure why they are trying to stop people from playing low tier. No matter what the changes made, some people are going to stay low-tier.

Thank you so much for all your great comments!
I really hope the devs will give us back our low-tier parts!

Disagree, too many noobs derping around with parts they don't take the time to learn how to use.

lol wut.

That can be done with the current items as well, it's called bad design and it can happen with thrusters and hovers.

Finally! Some sense in all of this chaos! I(being a new player) wanted to play this game for its creativity. But to find out that all of the stuff I wanted to try out was removed in the first update I had, I wasn't all too happy. If they were trying to nerf railguns, they failed, older players are more powerful in lower tiers now because they have all of the stuff from the far better original tech tree. Lower tiers are now deprived and are stuck with guns trucks, anit-air(when aircraft is rarer to see...) and hovering horrors that rely on all of their blocks being intact just to fly.

Thanks PowerSports for making a reasonable discussion. :penny:

Maybe just maybe if they had those parts earlyt on they could learn how to work with them in EDIT(ONCE) higher tiers, instead of just throwing all of this new stuff once you get to Tier 4. :dirtblock:

yet they are still useable in low tiers agianst new players and not obtainable. Clueless. Like using a gun in a fight while the other guy geta a stick but its suppose to be a fair fight.
