The game will be "woke," here's why

So first of all, they already have to retcon the game for the sake of gameplay because the chainsaw lancer was not invented at the time of E-day, but you can't have a gears game with no lancer.

And this is basically a huge lore retcon, so it really wouldn't be a big step to make Dom and Marcus gay for each other or something, which quite frankly, is something gen Z gears fans might enjoy. Since nothing is known about the locust at this point and the COG have no WMDs, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire story was about how Dom and Marcus had to hide their feelings for one another and that's the real reason why Marcus didn't want to save Maria in Gears 2.

The chainsaw lancer didn't exist during the start of e-day. That has always been canon. read the books that came out during the exact same time as 1,and 2. it took around 2 years for it to become a thing, because Tai used a home department stores chainsaw after he saw the bayonet broke, that is when marcus told his dad that a chainsaw would be better..

Yeah I know, I'm saying they will for sure retcon the lore you just stated so that the chainsaw lancer is available for gameplay. They already did it in GOW Judgement.

Yeah but Epic Games is no Ubisoft. Ubisoft has been declining for years but Epic has enough capital and divestment from gaming that it will eat the cost of wokeness.

The only thing that has remotely concerned me about this game was that one of the lead writers or something said "Marcus and Dom will have a more modern take", that horrible word, "Modern" is what worries me.

If they make Marcus and Dom wussies, I'll be sad. By the time of E-Day, they've both served 4 years in the army and are already battle-hardened boys who have known mostly war their entire lives, so I don't want any of that "im insecure, dom" bullcrap.

First of all, with the whole Lancer thing. It's an iconic weapon sure. But we still have the Mark 1 Lancer, the one with the Bayonette.

As for Dom and marcus being Gay??? No??? They're brothers in arms. Close friends. Ride or Die style. This is essentially the story of what happened Day 1 and will likely lead to how Marcus tried to save his father and how he was initially imprisoned for 14 years.

I was sure they weren't that close until Dom's brother Carlos died. This game will probably be about them getting to know eachother better and developing their relationship as brothers*.

Dom and Marcus, while fighting in the pendulum wars aren't the hardened vets we see in Gears 1 onwards. They won't be soft but they will be softer* like maybe showing fear for the Locust and more emotional about other's deaths.

The guy has a point but he a massively exaggerating.

gears of war judgement (aka the last masculine gears game) gave us a peak in to the UIR and pendulum wars cog's stratocracy and i gotta say there was huge huge potential. Plus does any one here even use lancers , they suck bro

Obviously the game will be woke. Everything in any media since around 2016 has been and is woke. I 100% assure you the new Gears will have some DEI stuff. However, I don't really care about the campaign in Gears, and if the multiplayer is good, I will still be buying it 👍

Hate to break it to you but as far as we know there is zero multiplayer.

Check the store page if you don’t believe me. They listed singleplayer & co-op but no multiplayer.
