Various users have reported microstutter during gameplay but no fix has been found yet.

LINUX MOUSE STUTTER

Mouse lags on Linux while the game runs in fullscreen.
This is the worst kind of bug since it's caused by the engine and not my own implementations, but I am looking for a workaround.

Meanwhile if you can try different resolutions it seems to fix for some people.

BLACK BOXES INSTEAD OF FONTS

This is related to outdated Intel 4000 HD drivers. Try updating them!

GAME CRASHES ON LAUNCH (on MACs)

UPDATE: This seems to have been fixed on V0.20

This is a Unity / Steam Overlay issue that plagues many games and unfortunately has no real fix that I know of. Happens only when game launches in full screen. There are however 2 simple workarounds:

- Disable Steam Overlay
Right click on Heavy Bullets > Properties > Uncheck the Enable Steam Overlay checkbox.

- Launch in a window
Hold option when launching the game, then set to windowed. You can set it to fullscreen while playing the game with no problems.

Who cares about patches if the game is still unplayable? The "mouse stutter" is a framerate drop that seems to occur when reaching newly spawned enemies and probably (only a guess) is due to instatiation of new objects instead of using pooling. Over one year ago in late July of 2014 you promised you were working on a fix.

It's nice that you responded lately to our comments with more development on the game, but we were only asking for one thing: a fix for the stuttering. I cannot bear to play this lovely game in its current state when, as a roguelike, death due to game bugs are so extremely discouraging. I hope that you find a fix for this problem that literally everyone I've ever seen stream this game suffers from... as well everyone I've ever asked about it. It seems to be a far-reaching bug.

Oh, I should have looked at the date. Someone linked me here in with the claim this was the new patch. I thought the above was a changelog and jumped to conclusions. Let's hope the upcoming patch resoves the stutter. I retract my comment.

Please fix the stutter! I love this game but the amount of tmes I die due to the stutter really frustrates me and removes a lot of fun from the game.
Sucks that the stuttering hasn't been fixed; makes it much harder to play the game. :/
Having same problem
16 gigs. still happens. also gets better with time in game not worse. not worth picking at anymore i don't think.

Not that I'm a programmer or anything, but to me it seems that the stutter is coming from loading the generated levels in heavy chunks, as it only seems to happen when I progress forward through the level at a brisk pace.
I am a very cautious player, advancing in short bursts and peeking around corners, but even I get the dropped frames. It's very noticeable and often causes me to rush out into the open when I'm trying to creep around cover.
It's a shame, because I've been really loving games like Heavy Bullets lately, but I bought it at least 2 years ago and haven't been able to play since because of the frame drops.
Lots of games made with Unity are having microstuttering when they load AI (as the player either enters their sight, or proximity). Receiver also has this problem. Mr. Vellman, do you use RAIN?
The performance issue makes speedrunning the game impossibe.

Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
