Story:
The halls of the Society were engulfed in utter silence. Not a sound was heard, as there was nobody to wander them in the first place. In fact, the whole building was empty save for Chairman Pinkerton and a select few explorers. Pinkerton did what he usually does: tidying up his office and taking care of the paperwork. Kwame and Dolores were sleeping heartily on the couch, Harry and Phailin were discussing their roguish ideas on how to nab some of the institution's funds, and Yvonne was arguing about nothing in particular with Anna. There was a certain peace to the whole scene. This was par for the course and expected of them, as they were usually left with nothing to do. Their expertise often times proved overwhelming for Pinkerton and made the other explorers envious of them. It was due to this that compromises had to be made almost every time people needed to be sent out on expeditions.

The boredom, however, caught up to them slowly but surely. "I can't take this anymooooore!" yawned Harry. "If I don't get to go out and steal some stuff, I might just go crazy!" He was a bit forceful, but said what was on everyone's minds. The thrill of exploring was but a distant memory for most of them. "Though it is unusual, I believe Walker has a point" Anna voiced her opinion matter-of-factly. "It has been quite some time since we last ventured out. It might be worthwhile to raise our concerns with Pinkerton about our current situation." she suggested, eyes shooting sparks. She never was one to disagree with.

As they marched towards Pinkerton, full of determination and resolve, they noticed his door being open. This was highly out of the ordinary for the neat freak Pinkerton. They could all feel shivers running down their spine. Ever courageous Dolores was the first to investigate: she looked everywhere in the office, attempting to find any trace of the Chairman. After about 20 minutes she finally chanced upon a hastily written note: "Anti-Explorer ambush. Must consult the higher-ups. The Society and its explorers are in grave danger."

"Seems important." Harry pointed out the obvious. "This is very troubling, indeed. I suggest we stay put and wait for further instructions." Kwame replied. "Better yet, we go and rescue them ourselves!" Dolores shouted, eager to prove herself. "That is incredibly foolish, even from you." Yvonne responded with her signature disgusted voice. "We don't know any of the details, going out looking for them would be pointless." "I see this as a great chance to borrow some items of interest." Phailin mumbled. "Actually, what this is is the opportunity that we've been looking for! The perfect chance to have some fun out there!" Harry came forward in his jolly manner. The explorers looked at each other for a while, but were quick to nod in agreement. It was finally their time to shine.

Rules:

The 6 Strongest* Captains only this week, choose one of the following: Phailin, Kwame, Anna, Dolores, Yvonne or Harry
Anyone can be on your crew, except the other possible captains
You must play on Adventure mode.

*probably the strongest captains, its been a while since we made the list

Scoring:

Medals are based on your Captain, the highest entries with each captain will get higher medals.

BRONZE: 6th highest entry with each Captain and after (1MP*)
SILVER: 4th and 5th highest entries with each Captain (2MP*)
GOLD: 2nd and 3rd highest entries with each Captain (3MP*)
PLATINUM:The highest entry with each Captain (3MP+**)

* Number of medal points awarded when playing on Classic Difficulty. Easy and Normal give less, according to these rules.
Gold and Platinum medals may only be achieved without losing, though Silver and Bronze are still possible to get with just the Record sheet for that trip.
** The platinum medal is extraordinary and can only be achieved on Classic or Impossible difficulty without losing. It doesn't increase Medal Points further than a Gold medal, but we will track how many you have.

How to participate

You can participate with a highscore, a story or both.

Stories

Write a story. Use the Challenge theme as an inspiration by looking at the constraints. Find other stories in the Fan Story directory or by looking at previous challenges.
Post your story in a new topic in these forums.
Also link to it to this thread with a comment: Include the first paragraph/few lines of your story in the post here to show readers what your story is about.

Highscores

Play the game according to the challenge rules and in Adventure mode.
Post in this topic a screenshot of your Win Screen*, right after the ceremony or your Leaderboard record.* Also include a text version of your score with the submission to allow for error checking.
Submit by 12:00 noon CET, 28/11/2018 (Or 11/28/2018 for those using MM/DD/YY)

NOTE: Only one score will be accepted - only one submission for each player please. If you wish to enter a new score, please edit your initial entry and make it clear which score you are submitting, and add the word "EditGreenlight" to the entry so we can see immediately when the result needs updating.
*If you forget to screenshot the Win screen, you can also enter with a screenshot of your Leaderboards: Go to Main Menu > Leaderboards > Local > click the entry that matches your submission game > screenshot those details.

Story ideas:

Can the 6 explorers save all the others? Was this the same Anti-Explorers attack that was rumoured a few weeks ago? Or was there no attack at all with Harry writing that note himself?

Next attempt this time with Pedrinho as roller, Could only get to 6 beguile/4 Diplo/4 QT/6 Surv instead of Yvonnes 6 diplo/6 beguiler/6 rogue/3 engineer I think I need to get the janissary to max out the campaign rolls but haven't got him yet

It is difficult to make a team that only has one of the six, great captains make pretty good crew too.

Horrible Transylvania my first run, and a horrible Shang map my second try... had to miss way more nodes than i wanted to... when each node is worth ~200 renown, that hurts a bit. Even with skipping nodes, i still had 9 hunger going into the boss. The only good part is I finally got the last treasure I was missing from my collection... the friendly yeti photo.

Also got sick of waiting for the stupid portrait to spawn, after 12 attempts i settled...

Not nearly what I was hoping to see, but still decent enough to submit i guess.

9310 on my first time Dolores. I feel like optimizing research order would be a big part of improving on her.

I've always had fun with Dolores as Captain, but haven't played her in a while so figured I'd give it a go. Went all out with her Story Card, so the Wrestling team really clobbered their opposition.

Welcome back Exploring Elite, how was it to finally be allowed to go all out with the top captains again?

Also give a warm welcome to wyndflyght, he joined us for the first time this week. Unfortunately Welsh Dragon came in last minute and beat your score with Dolores, so you'll have to settle for Gold this week.
