Challenge #133: Overcoming the Teacher

Story:
How can they truly be called inventors, if they haven't any true knowledge in building things? Earl and Wang Yu keeps arguing over who makes the best inventions, suddenly Anna, Hatice and Phailin decides to join in on the conversation believing that they should be in consideration for best inventions. Phillipe get's annoyed cause no one recognizes him as an inventor and joins the fray.

"can't believe you won't recognize my invention, just look at my leg, it's automata how many of you can claim to build something like that?" Phillipe asked the rest, "Earl your machines always explodes, and Wang Yu your inventions, are just dangerous to the people in the area. Meanwhile Anna, your only "invention" is writing in research papers, you haven't produced any real invention in years. Hatice's only invention is improving investments to only earning money" Phllipe continued. "So that is pretty good right?" Hatice asked, "Well it would be good if you would let the others use it and not just keep it for yourself, as far as we know the thing doesn't exist cause no one has ever used it! And I'm not even sure what Phailin has build if she even have build anything at all."

Everyone joined in on the conversation blaming each other for not being as good as inventor as themselves. In the end they manage to agree a small rank order, considering Phillipe, Earl and Wang Yu to be the bigger inventors, since after all they have build a lot of inventions. However there was a feeling that a 4th needed to be added to the list, and thus they agreed to pick their teacher and go out and invent new things.

Rules:

Your Captain must be either Anna, Hatice or Phailin
Your crew must be Earl, Phillipe and/or Yu
Your Captain must have the highest level of Engineer at the end.
You must finish in the Lost Island. (Shangri-La if you dont have More-to-Explore)
Platinum medal is limited to Impossible difficulty for Captain Anna
You must play on Adventure mode.

Scoring:

Your Score is your renown

Dont forget the screenshots of your Engineer levels

BRONZE: 3000(1MP*)
SILVER: 6000(2MP*)
GOLD: 12000(3MP*)
PLATINUM: 18000(3MP+**)

* Number of medal points awarded when playing on Classic Difficulty. Easy and Normal give less, according to these rules.
Gold and Platinum medals may only be achieved without losing, though Silver and Bronze are still possible to get with just the Record sheet for that trip.
** The platinum medal is extraordinary and can only be achieved on Classic or Impossible difficulty without losing. It doesn't increase Medal Points further than a Gold medal, but we will track how many you have.

How to participate

You can participate with a highscore, a story or both.

Stories

Write a story. Use the Challenge theme as an inspiration by looking at the constraints. Find other stories in the Fan Story directory or by looking at previous challenges.
Post your story in a new topic in these forums.
Also link to it to this thread with a comment: Include the first paragraph/few lines of your story in the post here to show readers what your story is about.

Highscores

Play the game according to the challenge rules and in Adventure mode.
Post in this topic a screenshot of your Win Screen*, right after the ceremony or your Leaderboard record.* Also include a text version of your score with the submission to allow for error checking.

I haven't played this game in an age... I just suddenly got the urge to install it again since I have a long weekend and now remember what I loved most about it. The weekly Dev challenges. During the time I played I got pretty competitve in going for Platinum, so I will probably try for that again. I'll update this post after a few runs!

EDIT: Or maybe not, as evidently my save profile has corrupted since I last played, before the previous expansion. And if I recall right, you have to do a bunch of expeditions before unlocking captains, crew, places to go, and even artifacts.

EDIT 2: And I guess my dreams of continuing are dashed for now. I went ahead and decided to just start fresh with new data, but after I ended my session and restarted, it says my profile data is corrupted again, sadly. I really did want to play again, but I'm not sure I can justify the time I would have to spend trying to troubleshoot and fix this myself.

Although i have been playing this game quite many hours, i have actually never participated in one of the Challenges. This mistake has to be corrected, so here is my entry for this week's Challenge.

This was a fun and interesting challenge, especially as I don't often run Engineer crews (as it's harder to match it up, unlike say the typical Nature + Archaelogy runs.)
