New roadmap
Hi again !
I'm slowly beginning to develop again after a VERY NICE VACATIONS haha.

In the last update (0.8.10) we fixed some GUI text bugs and added better analytics so we can understand better how people uses the game so we can focus in develop and fix those things that will benefit most of the players (although we are not living minorities unheard of course).

We are currently working in:
- Let users set their joystick controls individually in party mode
- New offline mode: level based progression (money to buy upgrades and skins blocked)
- Adding more languages, korean and japanese (Russian and more european languages are planned also). Asian languages support will be highly experimental so any help is welcome.

Planned features after above functionality is finished:
- New tracks and cars
- Real time online (it is in low priority since there isn't many players right now)

If there is something I'm forgetting please comment and I'll add it to the list ;) also feel free to re-order priority, same as we did with the older development list.

Tasks done:
- Ghost support in multi-track mode, ghost are generated for each track and it is a problem in Multitrack challenge in the Championships.
- Change Multitrack challenge to: Hardcore challenge. Once multitrack ghosts are available we will add support for ghosts, force top-down camera and probably add specific content (cars & tracks) in that championship mode. Most important thing is that everyone will have to drive using top-down camera and ghosts are going to be in the race as in all CS modes.
- Add a "view current top-8 drivers" in the championships, this will an spectator mode
- Put a message when the racer makes its best score in CS
- Language CHINESE
- New tile editor & video tutorial

Tasks in "won't implement" list:
- Add hotlap ghosts in the offline modes

Nice to see some info. :3

pro physics would be nice as well as some more realistic physics with tire spin and traction could be fun for drifting. I also recomend updating the vehicle and track graphics and detail. maybe tire tracks aswell, and an ability to import better 3d track models in the ediator.

Hi, remember this game is not a driving simulator, it's an arcade tuned specifically for top-down camera so all physics parameters are set according to that goal. Top-down + jumps imposes a lot of constraints.

Anyway we could think about adding an option for "pro" physics but it is quite far in our list.
Meanwhile you can tune physics yourself and discus with other players about different settings and share it here. I'll take a look at the code to see what kind of implications would have adding an option for disabling anti-sway and rotation torque (steering help).

Im not sure if im not mentioned but, it's cool to have "watch" -mode or still those that allow to look races with out playing. Like manager mode. x3

I'm glad you like it :)
you can play against us without sending you score just cancelling or not finishing the last lap or download ghosts (ghost folder) and use them in thunderwheels.cfg manually editing it with the game closed.

Hi everyone, I've updated the first post since some features are already implemented and some of them were moved to "won't implement" list.

We have a small surprise for the next version 0.8.13 :)

skid marks !!

Version 0.8.14 had the ThunderShop (TS) button added in the main menu (and a very easy and straight integration with Steam workshop), now we're working in our own tile editor. It will have a very close integration with the TS so the diffuse+friction+heightmap will be generated with that editor and pressing a reload button in the TS will show changes immediately.

The workflow will be very easy, you just have to run:
- game
- thundershop
- editor

Edit the tiles and save, reload texture in the TS once you see it ok save and test it in the game in offline mode.... if you need to make any modification in the track switch to editor, save and in the game use the restart option in the pause menu it will restart the race and reload all textures ;)

Happy new year !!
We've been quite busy attending the family in the past month :)
But now we're back again to work ! So far, we've done Chinese translation, Tile editor integration, better workshop implementation, etc.

Short term list is:
- More game modes in offline, probably some kind of levels
- Configurable steering sensitive for all cars in the "edit player" screen
- Configurable (some) physics parameters in the "edit player" screen
- Let users set simulation speed in offline mode
- Let users set their joystick controls individually in party mode
- Italian translation (user contribution)

We think most players are OK with the steering sensitivity but others don't, so we will offer some kind of basic tuning for each car and for each Player (useful in the party mode), but we have to watch if it affects the Championships results.

Also, at some point in the next month/days we will use a publicity round on Steam to get more players. The fun in the online is to have more players competing so once we feel the game is ready I'll press the button ;)
