NEWS: 15/05/2016

Released BETA version 1.2~beta, with the new input method developed by Makaifren.
Whoever feels like testing it, knowing that it is much faster than v1.1.1, can find it at

https://github.com/gemforce-team/wGemCombiner/releases/tag/v1.1.90

If you run this version, we'd expect you to provide some feedback, here: https://github.com/gemforce-team/wGemCombiner/issues/33

NEWS: 23/01/2016

Released minor version 1.1.1, with a couple of fixes you can read at the Release page, here:
https://github.com/gemforce-team/wGemCombiner/releases/tag/v1.1.1a

I also wanted to add that wGC v1.1 was downloaded over 800 times, didn't think so many people was still interested in this tool.

------------------------------------------------

After months of coding and mountains of bug fixing and improvements, the latest version of WGemCombiner, the best friend of the heavy endurancer wizard, is here.

Take a moment to thank user RobinHood70, who did nearly all the heavy lifting and then head to the release page for the download link and the detailed feature list.

Happy gemcrafting.

For whoever had no idea wGC existed, here is a summary of what it does:

Thanks RobinHood70 and 12345ieee. Frankly, I would not still be playing GemCraft Chasing Shadows if not for this and your previous efforts!

Sidethought: Developer ought to just put this in the game next go around. I LOVE the game, but the gem combining just gets irritating after a while.

This program can only be used for combine gems?
Can't I use that for angering waves? If not, what other methods could I use?

Angering waves is easy. If it's monsters, you throw 500-1,000 g1s on the wave (or g2s for giants). If it's a spark, you throw a g45 and you're all set.

Also, you should learn how to do prototype bombing. You can change the number of bombs you throw at a time by using the up and down arrow keys.

Best thing to happen to this game since...this game.

Looks great! Good job!

Wgemcombiner doesn't appear to do anything in game for me. I've got my recipe for a simple black gem combine, I've got a single gem in the bottom right, but when I hit the hotkey nothing happens. I've tried full screen and default. Anything else I should try?

File a bug on Github, giving all the needed details.

@Kormer, I had the same issue and banged my head against it for several months >.< today I found the solution ^.^ run the exe 'as administrator' if you do not know how to do this (right click the file and select 'run as administrator'

You're not the first with this weird issue, another user on github (issue #22) had the same problem.
This has been impossible to diagnose, nobody of us DEVs was able to replicate this.

I'm curious about a feature of the Gem Combiner and I can't find any information on it anywhere I've looked. How can you calculate the mana cost of a spec or a combine to know how much mana you need before you initiate the spec/combine? On the Gem Combiner there is a field that shows cost X*, but what base amounts are you multiplying to get the total cost of the action?
logopile Jan 14, 2016 @ 12:26pm
x = cost of base gem
Raistlen Jan 14, 2016 @ 1:14pm
The only problem with the cost formula is that it doesn't take into account the combination cost, which is also only a problem at very low levels.
